Todoroki entered the hospital room, peeling back the curtain to reveal your sleeping state. Your body was comfortably placed on the shabby bed on wheels. The boy took a seat next to your figure, as he could see the outline of your physique through the thin baby blue blanket. You were in a fetal position to keep yourself warm from the chilled institution. You looked so peaceful.
The doctor had examined your anatomy for any major injuries, but they couldn't spot any that were too serious. However, your head had sustained a minor laceration from the glass that fell from the bar; you guessed your head fell back and the glass cut it clean. Prior to Todoroki's arrival, cops had been in and out of your room, questioning your well-being and if you knew anything worth mentioning about the League of Villains. The doctors (thankfully) told the police that you needed rest and should come back at a later time. It had been about two days since you'd actually had a goodnight sleep—the eye-bags made that all too obvious.
This was Todoroki's third time coming in to see you today. During his first two previous attempts, he had been turned away due to the doctors running tests or the cops questioning you. Relief settled in him once the nurses called him up to the front desk saying you were finally available for visitation.
A strand of hair fell in front of your resting face. It tickled your nose. Todoroki noticed the fallen strand and took it upon himself to move it behind your ear, but his hand lingered. His thumb grazed your smooth cheek, admiring the beauty of your skin. The warm sensation caused your eyes to flutter open. You sat up, rubbing your eyes as you did so. Your gaze became stern once your eyes met his.
His outfit consisted of dark blue straight jeans and a black tee. You observed his state, bruises covered portions of his body from as far as your eyes could see. It reminded you of the burn on your hand from Dabi, you used one of your hands to cover it up before Todoroki could see.
"I'm sorry." Todoroki said. You ignored his apology and questioned him, wanting to get to the bottom of his actions.
"What're you doing here?" You cleared your throat, recalling your conversation from before you were kidnapped. You instantly fiddled with your thumbs speaking in a low tone as you rolled your eyes. "I thought you didn't care."
"I didn't mean it." Todoroki stated. His eyes bored into your soul. Emotion began to fill his heart the longer he stayed in the room with you. He couldn't bare to have you mad at him.
"Then why'd you say it?" You asked. To be completely clear, you felt like you shouldn't care what Todoroki thought. He wasn't anything more than a classmate or colleague—but something felt different. This 'friendship' you had didn't feel like yours and Yaoyorozu, or Midoriya, or Kaminar. It felt more intimate.
"Because I was scared and I—" He caught his words before he slipped, trying to rearrange them on his tongue before speaking once again. Your eyes widened, anticipating something positive or possibly life-changing to come out of this conversation. He took a breath, your heart skipped a beat before he continued, "I didn't—don't want to lose you."
