the night of daniel's birthday, the boy had gone out to dinner with his family and violet which he enjoyed but he couldn't help but think about liberty and the fact she hadn't even sent a simple 'happy birthday' text.

he wanted to trust her word, believe that was really was okay and that the reason she doesn't text much is because they're too busy focusing on each other in positive ways, but it was hard when he felt that she wasn't acting like her usual self.

and he wasn't wrong to have a hunch.

the real she hadn't been messaging wasn't for the reasons she had told him, it was because aj would take her phone off of her for the sake of only focusing on each other — in reality he was just being possessive of her.

knew she should probably leave him, but she didn't think there wasn't any good reason to. and she was scared that if she does say anything to end their relationship, he'll possible start to be worst and it'll into something unsafe.

on this particular sunday evening liberty thought about her invite to her best friend's birthday dinner, but didn't even bother bringing it up since she knew aj wanted to spend his night off of the desks by getting drunk at a club.

aj hand roughly holding onto her's as he lead her through to bar, ordering a drink for each of them before going to the dance floor. he kept her close. his free hand wandering all over her body as she moved to the music.

liberty knew where things were bound to end up, so she was just trying to enjoy the moment of 'calmness'.

adjusting how he held his drink, aj then spun the girl around, his hand with his cup wrapping around her lower back while his other grabbed onto her face. titling her head up to her and leaning in closer.

"i'm glad you're mine," he locked his lips onto her.

"aj," she chuckled pulling away from her. "you have all day to kiss me, let just dance."

he placed one more kiss on her lips, "i've gotta go take care of business. there better be no other guy here when i get back or there's something else i need to take care of."

"what business?" she raised a brow, speaking just loud enough over the music.

"don't worry about it. just look hot here dancin' i'll be back."

"okay.." she softly nodded.

letting him take her empty glass, she stayed stood there watching him walk away, still confused on what he meant.

although she quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she realised she had a moment to herself. grabbing her phone out of her handbag and opening daniel's contact, sending his a simple text wishing him happy birthday and putting her phone back away before aj came back.
