"i'm a dick for this i know, but.." sebastian took a deep breath before confessing; "when we first started seeing each other i was still on tinder and raya and hinge and like all the apps, and i won't lie i do still have them all downloaded.."

"anyway about a month ago, you were visiting daniel across the country, and i know you make it very clear that you two are just friends but it's hard not to think there's nothing going on in situations like that.."

"so i was bored at home, it was late at night, i swiping through everyone and matched with this girl. we clicked instantly, we hang out maybe once or twice but we were both very busy so it was hard to find time for one another."

"then at your party the other night, i finally realised why i recognised her.. and that's because she's your friend.." his faded out as the girl continued to blankly stare at him.

"which friend?" liberty finally spoke up.

"haven"

".. do you want to be with her?" she asked, trying to stay as calm as possible.

"honestly.. when you first introduced us, i knew i should end things with her, but as the night went on and i talked with her and some others, i was very much made aware that i'm always going to come second to daniel, and i don't think i can be in a relationship where that is the case."

"that's kinda hypocritical of you since you've been talking to other girls romantically these last two months," she sniffled.

"yeah, i know but," he shrugged. "i'm sorry."

she subtly shook her head, "so what happening between you and haven now?"

"well.." he awkwardly scratched the back of his neck as he glanced away from her for a couple seconds. "we sorta want to see where things go but we'd like your permission.."

"whatever," she looked away from him as she turned her body and adjusted to sit properly, wiping a couple tears away from her eyes while her hands became shaky. "can you just take me home."

"yeah," he softly nodded.

turning the car back on and putting in the directions to her house, the drive was even more quiet than on the way there. liberty spending the whole time trying to calm herself down and continuously wiping under her eyes — not even wanting to know how much her makeup was ruined.

arriving home, she didn't say a word to him as she got out and almost slammed the car door behind herself. searching for her house keys in her bag, although quickly realising when she tried the handle that the front door was already unlocked. walking into the house, she froze as she saw her three housemates in the dinner area staring back at her.
