waking up in the morning, liberty laid there confused as she registered who's room she was in. she soon sat up and looked around before grabbing her phone which she found on the bedside table and checked the time, 6:21am.

seeing that the connecting bathroom door was open, the realisation finally hit her that daniel was suppose to have violet stay the night. she already felt physically uncomfortable and now she felt even worst, knowing that since she's in daniel room she probably gave the worst first impression to the girl.

instead of trying to get back to sleep, she got up and found herself clean clothes from the section in daniel's wardrobe which was reserved for a few of her belongings, and a shirt from his, before heading to in the connecting bathroom.

after almost thirty minutes passing, liberty was finishing up her relaxing shower soon drying herself off and getting dressed before heading back out to the bedroom area.

taking a seat on the edge of the bed, opening her phone and going on it to pass sometime before she needed to properly get up for work.

and although she only had about five hours sleep after a drunken night, she surprisingly felt alright for once. other than the fact she was mad at herself for the way she spoke to jack at the end of their little impromptu date — that was once she mentally figured out why she was at her best friends house instead of his.

a couple hours later, liberty was now laying down in his bed again as she scrolled through her phone. soon turning her attention to the door and softly replying as she heard a knock. subtly smiling at daniel as he let himself in and she tun turned her phone off, bringing her attention to him.

"hey.."

"are you getting up for today?" he questioned as he walked over to the other side of the room and opening the curtains to let some light in. "you have work today, remember?"

"i know," she nodded as she sat up. "i woke up a while ago and had a shower already.. i was just laying here, passing time... where's violet?"

"in the bathroom.. are you going to have breakfast before you go?"

"no, i gotta go," she quickly shook her head as she got off the bed and went over to his wardrobe to find a pair of socks.

"you can stay for breakfast, you know? i'm gonna be making violet and i food already.."

"no it's fine, you two enjoy breakfast," she flashed him a smile before bringing her attention back to putting socks on. "i just remembered i was going to have a little brunch with the autumn and louise before i start," she lied.

"oh okay," he nodded. "do you want to come over later tonight then? talk about last night..?"

"okay.. but if she wants to hang out instead go with her, don't not make plans with her because of me. she's going to think you prioritise our friendship over her and i don't want that. i can't imagine how she sees me after last night."

"yeah, okay," he agreed as he watched her pace around the room grabbing her belongings. "i'm sure she doesn't mind.. there's no need to stress lib.."

"i'm not stressed about it, i just need to leave," she shrugged whilst stopping and facing him.

"text me later than," he softly smile as he walked over closer to her, signalling for her to start exiting his bedroom.

"i will.."

walking with her out to the front door, the two best friends quickly shared a hug as they exchanged goodbyes. daniel watched her as she got into her car and started it up before shutting the door and heading back through to the kitchen where violet was also entering in from the hallway.

"is lilli gone already?" she asked.

"yeah, she has brunch plans and then work," he brushed it off. "we can plan something for you two to meet in the next few days if you want?"

"i don't mind," she subtly shrugged. "whenever she wants to.. if she even does.. she didn't seem very eager to even say hi today.. or last night.."

"she- i think she's.. just like.. embarrassed about showing up last night and.. making a bad first impression." he softly smiled; "it'll be okay. she just needs a day or two."

"okay.."

"i promise she does want to meet you," daniel reassured as he begin grabbing food out of the fridge to make them breakfast. "she knows what it's like to have the people she's with question her and i's friendship, so she'd never purposely avoid meeting you and make you question us.."

"okay.. i'm going on a little overnight trip tomorrow with a couple friends to shoot some content but i'll be back on monday, so i'm good with any day next week if you two are happy with that?"

"i'll talk with her later and work something out," he sent the girl a softly smile. "now let's stop worrying about lili and make some breakfast."

violet agreed while returning a smile, she walked around to where he was stood and started helping him. and once they had finished cooking and plating up the food, the two got settled at the dining table and begun eating whilst sharing exchanging chatter.

"you never answered my question last night.." she spoke up after finally gaining the confidence to mention so, gently pushing her plate away from herself to signal that she was finished eating.

"what question?"

"if you wanted a girlfriend.." she watched as his furrowed expression settled and he softly nodded. "you said you wouldn't have met me if it wasn't for lili, so i asked and then her and that boy were at the door and you know what happened after that.."

"um.. yeah.." he hummed as he thought on how to word his response. "it's not that i don't want a girlfriend.. it's just.. i- i've been focusing on my music instead. i was on tour basically all of january, and now that i just want to work on making a bigger project and touring again because i love my job and i love being able to what i do."

"so i just tend to not try to meet someone just because i get so distracted in the studio then there's no time for it," daniel continued to babble. "lili's more a person who loves being around people and having a romance at all times so she's always pushing that onto me to be like as well which is why she was happily swiping through and messaging on my tinder."

"oh.. so like.. do you not want to be together-"

"no, no, i didn't mean it like that," he politely interrupted while shaking his head. "i'm grateful that she done that. i know i need to get out of the studio more and stop making it my only focus and start being more social. her setting us up on the date the other night is her pushing me to stop just saying things and actually doing it."

"okay.."

"i promise you that i'm all in it.. and that she only has good intentions by setting us up."

"i got that," violet nodded once again.

".. so do you got any plans today?"

"um i think i might head home in a bit- to like pack and get everything ready for the weekend. could you drop me home at all please if my friends are all busy?"

"don't ask them, i'll drop you home when you're ready to go," he quickly agreed. "i got some errand i need to run anyway."

"okay.. perfect.."
