arriving back home in los angeles earlier in the afternoon, liberty had spent a couple hours at her place doing a couple tasks before it got closer to the time they had agreed on, packing an overnight bag and then driving herself to sebastian's apartment complex.
"lilli," he smiled as he answer his front door, wrapping one of his arms around her neck and placed a kiss on her lips while she properly hugged him in return.
"seeeb," she matched his expression. "i've missed you."
"how was your trip?" he asked, taking her arms off of himself and keeping ahold of one as they walked into his apartment and shutting the door behind them.
"gooood, it was fun, we had lots of fun, lots of drinks, lots of sunbathing and picnics on the beach, lots of staying up late and sleeping in, allll without you," she giggled.
"you're cute," he chuckled. "and you look good in this little outfit you go going on."
"thank you," she softly blushed. "how was your acting?"
"goood, it's been fun," he copied her previous energy. "i made us dinner."
"oo what did you make?" she said with a small skip in her step as she went over to the kitchen area.
"peri peri chicken," he said in a satisfied tone, folding his arms as he followed her. "it's dairy free, chicken breast so no bones and also no peppers cause i know you're picky."
".. thank you," she said as she turned back around to face him, somewhat comfortably smiling after his last comment but at the same time actually feeling thankful that he accommodated to her needs and preferences.
"and to drink.." he brought her attention to his alcohol selection. "what would you like? gin and tonic like usual?"
"yes please," she nodded in agreement. "would you like me to make it?"
"no, go sit down," he politely directed. "i'll get it all ready."
"alll-riiight"
and after spending the evening together, just the two of them, enjoying each other's company and having fun together, the two finally wound down for the night around one-am. sebastian passing out almost instantly, while liberty was finding it had to fall asleep in current environment.
her sensory disorder flaring with the what she deemed as itchy texture of his comforter highly bothering her. switching the side of her body she was laying on multiple times as she attempted to get her mind to focus on something else. closing her eyes as she attempted to force herself to sleep.
march 2014. grade nine. an overnight trip with their school's small debate team. knowing she had grown up around a predominantly male presents, shewas trusted to stay in a room with daniel and the other two boys to even out the students rooms to be four-four.
laid there staring at the ceiling while she knew all the boys were out like a light in preparation for another day of debating before heading home tomorrow, she softly hummed to herself as she tried to get her mind to calm down and zone out so she could sleep too.
but no matter how hard she attempted to sleep, her eyes kept trailing over to daniel. she knew he knew that she found it hard to sleep in bed that wasn't her own but didn't want to make her feel embarrassed in front of the others — ultimately why she didn't bring any of her comfort items away with her.
daniel.." she finally softly whispered to the boy while gently shaking his shoulder, after she had laid there for another almost half an hour and the time ticked closer to three-am.
"mh.." he inaudibly groaned, rolling over to face her.
"i can't sleep.."
"come here," he held his arms out with out any intention, her shuffling over closer to him and instantly burying her head into his chest as he wrapped his arm and leg over her to give her warmth and also stop the comforter from touching her skin.
"thank you.."
liberty quickly opened her eyes again, feeling even more awake now after the memory of one of their teenage trips sparked her mind. soon sitting up, trying to make minimal movement as she done so and then looking over at sebastian with a small frown on her face.
getting out of bed, she went over to her bag and quietly searched through for her little notebook and pen. ripping off a page and writing a quick apology note for leaving after agreeing to stay the night and that she'll see him tomorrow night for her birthday party.
walking over to his side of the bed, she placed the paper under his phone before grabbing her belongings and leaving the room. she hated leaving after agreeing the stay but she knew this night in particular she needed to get a good night's rest and that wasn't going to happen at his place.
