Mini stepped out of the ER, exhausted.

When she was about to get off her shift, a man had came in with trauma to his head after a hit and run, so she and her team had to perform immediate surgery.

She sighed and checked her phone, the time reading 2:36 AM.

Mini quickly walked to her office, stopping in the bathroom to scrub her hands and wash her face.

She removed her glasses, looking at herself in the mirror before gathering water in her hands and splashing it gently onto her face.

The cold water felt like relief to her burning skin that had been concealed by a mask and visor for 3 and a half hours straight.

Mini sighed, unfolding her glasses and placing them on her face before walking down the hallway to her office.

She quickly found herself approaching a large wood door that had a small name plate at the centre, reading "Dr. Yamini Kapoor Mercado Lopez".

Mini felt a smile touch her face before unlocking the door, in to her work space. She was overflown by the scent of sandalwood and rosewater.

She hastily took off her surgeons gown to reveal dark blue scrubs, the outfit that she wore to work more often than not.

Mini retied her ponytail and checked her appearance using DeeDee (as a compact mirror) as she picked out lint in her hair left being by the surgical cap she was wearing.

Satisfied, she snapped the compact mirror closed and shoved it and her phone into her black leather tote bag that Rudy had gotten for her birthday.

She hastily grabbed the sweater on her chair before exiting the room, locking the door behind her.

"Rough night, eh?" said Sabrina, one of Mini's friends who worked at the front desk.

Mini sighed, "Yeah,"

"Someone's waiting for you outside," she said typing on the computer in front of her.

Rudy, she immediately thought.

Mini smiled, "Thanks. See you tomorrow."

Sabrina gave her a grin in response.

Mini quickly exited the automatic doors of the hospital and looked around for Rudy.

She spotted him, sitting on a bench, face in his hands, hood pulled over his head.

It kinda made him look like Aiden.

Mini tapped his shoulder, "Rudy,"

He jerked awake, "Oh. You're finally here."

She rolled her eyes, "You didn't have to wait. I would've called you."

Rudy gave her a beaming smile, "Now that you're here, its fine. What took you so long anyway?"

Mini sighed, "A patient had severe trauma to his head after a hit and run," she said. "We had to perform emergency surgery."

"Oh," said Rudy. "Is he okay now?"

"He's under observation," replied Mini.

Rudy wrapped an arm around her shoulders, "Why don't we head home quickly. I bought pancit."

"You did?" asked Mini, positively delighted.

Rudy laughed at her reaction, "Yeah! I thought you'd like it."

"Oh, Rudy," said Mini, giving him a hug. "You really didn't have to."

"I wanted to, though," said Rudy smiling down at her. "It makes you happy."

Mini felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. "Rudy, you make me happy. Remember that."

Even in the dark, Mini could see a blush overtaking his face. "Why don't we go home and eat it before it gets frozen?"

Mini smiled, "Yeah."
