Aru Shah was hating on school. She particularly hated math, even though she's really good at it.

Aru watched the clock as the longer hand ticked to the next minute.

Please just hit thirty, she thought, crossing her fingers in hope. And before she knew it, the bell went off.

BRRRRRRIIINGGGGG, the shrill sound echoing throughout the weirdly silent classroom, and the chatter of students began as the class exited the room.

Aru grabbed her yellow binder and walked down the hall to Aiden's locker which was a few steps away from her math class.

There, she saw Aiden leaning on his locker, fiddling with Shadowfax. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and jeans. The light from the skylight shone down on him, making his skin glow a warm golden brown colour.

Aru quickly snapped out of her thoughts and went up to him, grabbing Shadowfax out of his hands. Aiden looked up at her, alarmed.

"Hand it over, Shah," he said, reaching his hand out. Aru looked at his outstretched hand and slipped her hand into his, hiding Shadowfax behind her back.

"What do you mean?" Aru asked innocently.

Aiden looked at her hand in his, and looked up at her, a smirk on his face. "You know what I mean," he said.

"No I don't," said Aru.

Aiden held her hand tightly and pulled her towards him, their foreheads touching. Aru's eyes widened, her cheeks heating up. Aiden looked down at her, before grabbing Shadowfax.

Aru gasped; "This is treachery!"

Aiden smirked, "But you stole from me."

"And?" asked Aru, crossing her arms.

He chuckled, fiddling with Shadowfax. "And that's a crime."

Aru huffed, turning around to leave, until Aiden grabbed her hand, turning her around to face him. Aru looked up at him questionably, "What?"

He quickly took a picture, the camera emitting a flash.

Aru's eyes went wide, "Paparazzi!" she exclaimed.

Aiden glared at her. "The lighting was perfect!" he retorted.

"At least show me the picture," grumbled Aru.

He smirked down at her, "No."

"What do you mean"no"?!" asked Aru.

Aiden turned his back on her to leave, "I just mean no."

Yep. She was definitely hating on school.
