AN --- the only explanation for all the technical things written in this chapter about Bharatanatyam is because I've been doing it for almost 11 years now so ENJOY THE CHAPTER AHEAD AND THE INFORMATION ABOUT BHARATANATYAM

Being an apsara's offspring, Aiden knew how to dance, but he didn't particularly like it. What he didn't know is that Aru knew how to dance.

You see, one night, Aiden had looked out his window to see Aru...dancing? He recognized the fast moves as Bharatanatyam.

Her movements were perfect, almost as good as his mother.

He'd seen his mom dance when she thought no one was looking. Malini would play a carnatic song on her phone, and danced. His mom had never looked so free, as she was in perfect tandem with the nattuvangam that tapped in the thalam over the phone.

Comparing his mom and Aru's dance, he recognized certain mudras that were used in Bharatanatyam.

Pataka, Tripataka, Alapadma.

All the moves Aru was doing from his window and what his mother had done could be recognized as Nritta.

"Nritta has no meaning, but it is pure dance, and it is known for its true beauty." His Nani, Menaka had told him.

That was what Aru was doing. He had no idea what beat she was dancing to, but it was Nritta. It had no meaning, but it was truly beautiful.

Aiden instinctively reached for Shadowfax and snapped a picture. It was beautiful. He zoomed in on Aru's face. It glistened with sweat, and her cheeks flushed. Her hair was in its typical braid, but baby hairs stuck to her forehead. But what Aiden was drawn to was her eyes. They were so dark, but so bright at the same time. It was unreal.

Aiden smiled at the picture. He was never deleting that. He looked back out the window, just to see Aru staring at him. She was breathing heavily, but her face glowed.

Aiden rose an eyebrow at her, and she blushed, turning away. He smirked, picking up his phone.

Why are you stalking Shah

He sent the text, knowing that he started stalking first, but looked back up out the window. Aru had picked up her phone, and looked at him questionably.

i wasnt stalking

But you were

i wasnt

Sure Shah

you were the one watching me dance

Aiden felt his cheeks burn. So she did see. He looked out the window to see her standing there, her classic smirk slid onto her face.

I couldn't help myself

He looked up back at the window. She was the one who was blushing now.

thank you?

Mini was right

You're a good dancer

i learn from the best

Oh right. Both Aru and Mini took classes from Urvashi, his aunt. Masi is an extraordinary dancer, so it's only natural for her disciples to be good.
