Not normal

Brynne knew the feelings that she had towards Hira weren't normal.

To her, Hira being around made everything better. When she enters a room, it's almost like the atmosphere changes and makes it feel complete.

She knew, from day one, that Hira was something else.

She knew that she liked Hira as more than a friend and Brynne didn't even try denying it. She couldn't get mad at Hira no matter what she did, and you know that's a big deal because Brynne Rao can get mad at anyone.

Except Hira.

The scary part was that this "little crush" was visible to everybody including Aru and Rudy.

When they talked, Aru would watch them (Brynne) with a smirk, Mini would smile, Rudy smiled along with her and Aiden would look at them expectantly, as if to say "Get on with it, now."

What an Ammamma.

The whole world saw it. Even Gunky and Funky.

"Brynne, do you like Hira?" Funky asked her when they were cooking together.

Brynne stopped whipping up her souffle and looked at Funky with an unreadable expression.

"I'll take that as a yes,"

"How did you know?" asked Brynne.

"Oh, darling," said Funky. "We all know."

From that moment on, Brynne paid close attention to her friend's while she talked to Hira and found out that not only did her uncles and the Potatoes know, Krithika Shah, Malini and Mini's parents knew. Even Mini's brother who she'd never even talked to knew!

Was it embarrassing that everyone saw her infatuation towards Hira? Yes.

But did Brynne Tvarika Lakshmi Balamuralikrishna Rao care? No (maybe a bit).

She knew that she cared about Hira more than she had anyone else before and she loved the way her hazel eyes shined with excitement when something positive happens. Hell, she even listened to Brynne play the harp which even her sisters and best friend/reincarnated wife would never do.

The only problem was that she didn't know how Hira felt. If she liked her back, hooray! If she didn't, that would be awkward.

"So, will you tell her or not?" asked Aiden.

"I don't know," said Brynne, twirling her trophied bracelets.

"Well," started Aiden. "Hira's nice, and knowing her, she would never be rude to you if she found out."

"But it would strain our friendship and-"

"Bee listen to me," Aiden chided. "The only reason Hira listens to you play the harp isn't because she likes the playing," Brynne shot him a glare. "It's because she likes the person."

Brynne went wide eyed. "What?"

"I suggest you go ask her out without worrying," said Aiden, a smirk playing on his lips.

With that, Brynne made up her mind, gathered her shit and asked.

"So I need to tell you something," said Brynne.

"Yeah sure, but uh, are you okay?" asked Hira, looking at her quizzically.

Brynne sighed, "Hira, I like you a lot. I just think you're the sweetest, kindest and one of the most amazing people I've ever met. Ever. And I don't know if you feel the same way but I like you so much and-"

"Yes."

Brynne stopped her rant and looked up at Hira who was beaming.

"I've liked you for a while now," said Hira, shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Brynne you're one of the most talented people I've ever met and even though you suck at playing the harp, you're still my favourite person."

Brynne couldn't contain her smile and hugged Hira. The other girl broke into giggles as Brynne spun her around in a tight embrace.

They were finally dating.

What happened when everyone found out?

They couldn't be happier for their friend(s)/sister(s).
