Ep. 18: Gifts From The Heart (MTT Holiday Special Arc)

*Mettaton, Lioness, and Hothead ran into the greenroom. Cocker Roach was sitting on the couch, waiting for them.*

Mettaton: Where's Uniqua? What have you done with her?

Hothead: Hey, chill out, toasterboy! We got this!

Lioness: Let him be, Hothead. He has a plan to deal with this.

Cocker Roach: I'll only tell you where she is on one condition.

Mettaton: And that is?

Cocker Roach: I want you to leave her. Call off your relationship. Just tell her it's for the best. You can make up some story about how she weighed you down or you can tell her you found someone who isn't as "broken" as her.

Lioness: There's no way he'd ever do that.

Mettaton: I won't do that. I can't have her thinking I'm just another deadbeat or jerk who's only out to take everything from her again.

Cocker Roach: Wow, nice to know you care that much. I didn't need you to tell me that. All I need is the throne. I need the crown in order to regain power and rule mystics.

Mettaton: Well, I don't want things to get ugly in front of her real family. Just tell us where Uniqua is and we'll be on our way. You know, you're still violating the restraining order and I have no problem forcibly removing you from the premises. I'm not scared of you in the slightest. So, tell me why I should bow or cower before a corrupt king such as yourself.

Cocker Roach: Fine. If you must know, I brought a portable teleportation device and hid it in a supply closet. While Uniqua was searching for me, I kidnapped her and locked her in the same closet. She could probably be up on the roof by now. That's where you'll have to meet me next if you want her back that much.

Mettaton: Why can't you just send her back down from here?

Lioness: It's always the hard way with him, Mettaton. I'm sure there's a reason why he's refusing to bring her back down.

Cocker Roach: Yeah, I only know how to teleport people to places using the device. I haven't figured out how to bring them back without physically going to the location I sent them to and setting up another device. My intern designed them and never showed me how to reverse it.

Mettaton: That's it?!

Cocker Roach: Yep, that's it. There is no hard way this time because I genuinely don't know how to access every feature.

Hothead: I'll see if I can get Hoth and Alphys to help look at it. We might be able to figure it out.

Lioness: I'll stay with you to make sure no one takes you, Hothead. Mettaton, you need to get up to the roof and save Uni.

Mettaton: Understood!

Cocker Roach: So, what will it be?

Mettaton: I'll meet you up there. If it's the only way to get Uniqua, I'll do it.

Cocker Roach: Alright, I will warn you about the nutcrackers I brought, though. They do get kind of aggressive when they have low battery. It's just their way of fighting harder until they drop. They were programmed to do that.

Mettaton: They shouldn't be a problem for me. Why would you warn me about them anyway?

Cocker Roach: We'll have to race up to the top. I can't run like I used to so, I was thinking we'd have to either fly or I could take the elevator while you use the stairs.

Mettaton: I believe this is the catch Lioness was talking about.

Cocker Roach: No, this isn't the catch. The catch usually comes later when the villain has the hero right where he wants them.
