Ep. 25: Old Quarrels, New Era (The Return of Tenna PT. 3)

*The crew carefully entered the lost temple, taking in the glyphs and ancient writing on the walls.*

Tenna: You see that strange, circular pattern on the floor?

Uniqua: Yeah, it looks like some kinda old mandala. These patterns remind me of the ancient languages mystics used to communicate before and during the war. We stopped using them shortly after we were sealed away.

Mettaton: Why did you stop?

Uniqua: According to some of our best historians and linguists, the need for multiple languages decreased since all species now lived in one enclosed space. With it, the need for a universal tongue increased. We no longer had to worry about other races overhearing private conversations that could cost us our independence and liberty. There are still few individuals who speak them. I only hope they can help these languages survive.

Tenna: Well, that's rather interesting! A little history lesson never hurt anyone, right? Unfortunately, that's cutting into our air time. Back to the task at hand! That pattern is actually very sacred. Before AdvenTown became what it is today, there were four separate kingdoms. In order to keep the peace, they'd hold massive rituals and celebrations in this temple. This floor used to be where they would perform different ritual dances and honor their partners.

Starlo: So, dancing is the challenge?

Tenna: Yes! You have to give your best PERFORMANCE to not only the ancient gods of AdvenTown but to our audience as well!

Digger: Well, it looks like we get to bring out our ancient tribal dances, Uni.

Uniqua: Let me see if I can make us some headdresses and ceremonial robes or wraps first. Help me gather up whatever leaves and feathers we can find.

Tenna: No need for that! I brought you all the appropriate attire for this. Also, I don't think you can use any from your cultures here. If you can incorporate them into the traditional dances from the old kingdoms and their rituals, I don't have a problem with it. Now, hurry and get dressed! The PHYSICAL CHALLENGE is about to start!

*Each member of the group quickly grabbed an outfit and put it on before returning to the circular floor of the temple. Tenna then announced the staft of the challenge and the hidden temple once again became a place of rituals and ceremonies thanks to the efforts of the group. After the challenge ended, Tenna showed them the final results and their rank for the board.*

Tenna: CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully brought the LIFE, LOVE, and MAGIC back to AdvenTown! Well done, contestants!

Ceroba: That was actually quite enjoyable.

Starlo: That really was unbelievable! I don't think I've seen you have that much fun since you first lost Chujin.

Ceroba: I agree! I really haven't been too keen on rituals or dancing after his death.

Mettaton: Are you two in need of a hotel room? I can get you a fabulous discount!

Uniqua: No promotional offers, Mett! Let them have a little privacy and decide!

Mettaton: Don't forget your roots, love. You were and still are a huge shipper.

Uniqua: At least I know to step back and respect boundaries. I saw you chasing Alphys down with the mistletoe one year.

Starlo: Wait, he did what to Alphys?

Mettaton: This was a while before we'd met you, Star. And to be fair, Uniqua was laughing the whole time.

Uniqua: Bro, don't expose me in case they're watching all this!

Mettaton: You're the one who brought it up!
