Last Part of Chapter 23
"By the way," Muskan began, her tone curious, "I wanted to ask you something. What really happened between you and Sarah?"Zayn's expression tightened briefly before he forced a nonchalant smile. "Sarah? Why bring her up?"
Muskan raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "What do you mean by that? You used to talk about her all the time, but today you're being weird. When I asked Sarah about you, she gave me the same evasive reply. What happened between you two?"
Zayn sighed, his gaze shifting to the front. "The funfair was fun, right?"
Muskan replied casually, "Yeah, you're an underrated giant."
Zayn looked at her, eyebrows raised. "What did you just say?"
"Do you think I'm a fool?" Muskan asked, crossing her arms.
Zayn nodded, a mischievous glint in his eyes, which only fueled Muskan's frustration.
"Zayn, you—"
"Careful," Zayn interrupted with a smirk. "Say anything nasty, and you'll regret it."
"Oh really? What could you possibly do?" Muskan teased back, her temper flaring.
"You're such a headache," Zayn muttered, turning away from her.
Muskan quickly stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "That's not an answer to my question."
"I wouldn't do anything. Happy now?" Zayn said, trying to brush off the topic.
"I meant my question about you and Sarah," Muskan pressed, her voice softer now but still insistent.
"Why do you want to dig that up?" Zayn asked, his frustration showing.
"Why are you both hiding it? Just tell me the truth. A week ago, you two were giggling like kids at the mention of each other's names, and now you can’t stand it. What happened?" Muskan demanded, her frustration evident.
