Extending her hand, (Y/N) caught the raindrops that splattered onto her palm, staring out into the rain-filled night that seemed almost ethereal to her in that moment. After having eaten with Shinobu and Giyu, all five of the demon slayers were invited into a nearby home of a kind elderly couple that lived in a large enough house to fit them all. It was a kind gesture that they eagerly accepted due to the ever sinking sun in the sky. Now, the girl had shed her plain black Haori and was sitting on the steps of the couple's front porch, unable to sleep.

Rain is pretty...

Yet so inconvenient when it comes to using Explosive Breathing...

Breathing in deeply, letting the cool scent of nature fill her nostrils—for once calm and settled down—the sudden sliding open of the door made her turn her head around quickly, surprised when finding herself staring into familiar blue eyes.

"(L/N)... san?" Giyu cocked his head, his usual stoic expression having not changed from earlier.

"Tsk," she clicked her tongue as she slid her gaze away from him, irritated that her alone time was interrupted. "What do you want, half-in-half?"

He blinked slowly.

Half-in-half?

"I couldn't sleep," he answered, hesitantly closing the door and sitting down beside her at a comfortable distance. "I'm guessing sleep comes hard for you too?"

"Why would that be?" She snapped. "I'm perfectly fine. Nothing could keep me from sleeping."

"I... didn't say you were not fine. Is... something bothering you?"

     "No!"

Furrowing her eyebrows in anger, she folded her arms over her chest and angled her body away from his, Giyu just staring at her blankly, not quite sure what he said that offended her so. Running a hand through his tangled black hair, having set it loose from the ponytail he usually wore it in, he exhaled softly, the other thing different about him being the fact that he no longer had his Haori on—it being split down the middle with the right side colored red and the left being a geometric pattern of green, yellow, and black. The two didn't say anything for a while after that, instead choosing to sit there in an almost comfortable silence.

The man found this side of her odd.

He had never not seen her in a screaming or angered state.

And as they sat there, he found the silence in her presence almost comforting in a way, yet the curious human nature that every person had within them couldn't be quelled in him, wondering just what had made her like this when she so usually wasn't. Yet he didn't say anything. He had no need to, since as soon as morning came, he'd never see her again unless something else brought them together.
