Sitting beside Kokushibo, (Y/N) watched as Akaza and Douma sparred due to the latter pissing the former off, even laughing as he defended himself with his golden fans and icy Blood Demon Art. She had been training with them for about two months, and already they were helping her hone her demonic instincts to pique perfection.

She learned many things about them as well.

Kokushibo—when he wasn't instructing her or informing Douma and Akaza of something—was rather quiet and reserved, mostly keeping to himself in times when his presence wasn't needed. Of course, when she had probed, she learned that he too had been a Demon Slayer, a prominent one at that, but had never been able to surpass one man in particular. He didn't elaborate more on that, and she knew better than to push him.

Douma prattled on and on about himself to her, even when she didn't ask. He would have lengthy conversations with her about how he ironically led a cult that worshipped him as their divine leader due to the color of his eyes, but he himself believed in no God or Buddha or any sort of Afterlife or Heaven or Hell. He had even claimed that when she was a human, he had so badly wanted to assimilate her into his body, but now no longer felt the need to. She questioned him on that, but he merely smiled and directed the conversation away from the subject.

Then there was Akaza.

He followed her like a lost puppy that always seemed to be around when his owner called.

(Y/N) had asked him once why he kept following her—he having never allowed her to be alone with one of the other Upper Moons for an extended period of time—and he merely replied that he didn't like it when he was not by her side. He told her that even though he knew she was strong, something inside of him begged him not to part from her. She could sense a strong resolute of protection over her within him, and she didn't question it any further, instead giving him a small pat on the head with a rather emotionless expression before diverting the conversation to a different topic.

While she felt gratitude and respect for these demons, something stopped her from completely devoting herself to them or Muzan.

It ate away at her.

And she could only let it.

"Something seems to be bothering you," Kokushibo commented, making her attention divert to him, however his six eyes following Douma and Akaza. "What's wrong?"

"Ah... nothing," she answered quickly.

"You... are being untruthful," his eyes finally met hers, his lips set into a firm line that immediately clued her in to show that he was displeased with her answer. "I can see it in your eyes... and the way you speak. Do not... pull such trivialities with me."
