Walking into the crowded city that shone bright with the spread of electric lights that made it look like it was still day even though the sun had dipped below the clouds ages ago, (Y/N) surveyed the scene. Men and women of classy dress walked down the streets, some with shopping bags in hands, some on the arm of a lover, and some traveling in motor-powered vehicles only for the really wealthy.
It was a fantastic sight to any.
But (Y/N) wasn't focused on the glittery appearances, only looking farther into the dark and dank alleys littered about for a sign of a demon.
Apparently, many people had been disappearing from this town regardless of their age or gender, yet as she looked at everyone around her, no one looked to be uneasy or worried. In fact, if anything, they looked a bit too calm as they walked the streets and perused the market stalls with carefully crafted trinkets that the vendors were selling.
It bothered her.
Many people side-eyed her as she passed them, taking in the sword strapped to her hip along with the new Haori Kagaya had gifted her that stood out amongst the muted colors that everyone else wore around her. While they were judging her, she was observing them and everything else around her, stretching out her senses as far as they could go, searching, seeking, looking for any sign that a demon was or had been present.
It didn't take her long.
Running through the crowd, shoving past others and jumping over knocked-down items caused by her doing, ignoring the way people shouted at her in disbelief, she finally stopped.
There...
Two demons...
Wait... there are three demons...
No... now four.
Rushing forward, unsheathing her sword as she did so, she burst upward with an explosion and flipped herself into the air. She saw two demons watching as a young boy, most likely still only eighteen or nineteen, grapple with what looked to be like a newly turned demon. But it was the largest and most dangerous aura there that drew her gaze to a man steadily weaving through the crowd away from the sudden chaos.
That's where she directed her blade.
But even with surprise as her vantage factor, the man still turned around.
When her (E/C) eyes clashed with his red ones, a sudden fear gripped her down to her very bones. But she wouldn't let anything deter her, teeth gritting as she used another explosion to launch herself forward again, using the momentum to flip herself so that her sword sliced through his entire arm in one fell swoop with a spiral and vertical swing.
