"It's just you and me, now, Fourth-Wifey!" Tengen laughed loudly, pleased, everyone else having had to leave on separate missions save for he who was still recovering from his battle with Gyutaro.

Considering he was still debating on whether or not to continue fighting, it was only natural he was hesitant on resuming his missions. He wasn't too badly injured, having a patched eye like Kyojuro and a wooden prototype of prosthetic fingers that Shinobu had supplied him, but he hesitated. He knew his wives wished for him to retire since they worried about him constantly, however he found himself leaning towards continuing since if he didn't, he would no longer be able to see (Y/N) as often as he did currently.

    He hated such a possibility.

(Y/N) didn't really respond, only turning her head away so she didn't have to look at him.

    Hurt flickered across his expression.

Even though he knew her actions were just a result of her memory loss, every time she didn't recognize him, every time she looked down on him as a demon rather than human, and every time she visibly turned down his affections, his chest tightened insufferably so. He found himself realizing he liked her usual vocal and enraged self that always spurred her on to try and compete with him. Though he normally wasn't always fond of such behavior, he now found the actions adorable.

    He missed it.

"Will you at least look at me?" Tengen murmured softly as his fingers barely brushed against the back of her hand, the touch making her flinch and whip her head around to glare at him, the (E/C) of her eyes, while dangerous, looking absolutely breathtaking to him.

"I don't know what you humans want from me, but just leave me the fuck alone," she spat.

    "Why?"

"That man wants you annihilated," she said lowly, watching Tengen's rather negative reaction from his frown and the twitch of his eye. "And so do I."

"I know you don't mean that," Tengen crossed his arms over his chest as his stare turned frigid, the sheer way he towered over (Y/N) while she was restrained making her feel as if she were weak—and she hated such a feeling. "At least the human part of you doesn't. I don't know how Kibutsuji is warping your memories and erasing them, but I'm going to tell you what's true."

That voice roared in her head again.

    Her scowl deepened.

Sitting down beside her and pulling his chair up closer than necessary, Tengen continued, "Your name is (L/N)(Y/N). Your parents were killed by Upper Moon Two, and because of that, you trained to become a Demon Slayer."
