    Arriving in Senju, Kyojuro and (Y/N) immediately split up to go off and speak to some of the villagers before they met up at the road leading into town when the sun set. They needed any information that they could gather, more so than just knowing that this particular demon fed on woman. Before they parted, he once more told her not to scare them off while onto receiving a scowl in response. Stalking away from him with clear annoyance on her features, she then tried to approach other people, but they wouldn't go near her.

    Because they were in mourning over their lost daughters and wives and sisters, they didn't want to interact with someone that would make them feel even worse, but because they did that, (Y/N)'s vexation only grew.

These little fuckers!

I come all the way here to help them but they won't even talk to me, damn it!

Collapsing onto one of the steps to someone's home, she sneered at the ground and threw rocks angrily into the nearby pond that was right next to the building. She knew that she should've just stood up and tried to approach others with a better expression, but she wasn't in the mood. If she did see the demon, she would slaughter them without remorse.

She flinched when hearing someone crying from inside the house that she was sitting in front of, turning around ever so slightly when that—and the sound of yelling—was getting closer until the front door snapped open to reveal a child. He was a boy, obviously around six or seven years old, with tears and snot running down his face while he hiccuped softly. But when he saw (Y/N), he stopped short, yet his crying did not cease.

"W-Who are you?" He stuttered out in-between his soft sobs. "Have you come to help us?"

"Hah?"

"A-are you the one who's gonna help me find my big sister?"

She perked up at that.

"Ah... yeah," she stated stiffly, not really sure how to act in front of children. "I'll help you find your big sister. What's your name?"

"K-Kaito... Kaito Naoki..."

"Is Kaito your surname?"

"Yeah..."

"Then, Kaito-kun, can you tell me what happened to your big sister?" She asked, awkwardly patting the step next to her so the young boy could take a seat. "And... who was yelling inside earlier?"

"That was my dad... he was yelling at my mom... for not watching Fumiko carefully... saying that that was why she disappeared," Naoki mumbled as he wiped his tears away, sniffling every few seconds as he stared miserably down at the ground. "We were playing hide-and-seek... even though mom told us not to since it was getting dark. But we did anyway. And... and when it was Fumiko's turn to hide... she didn't come back."
