If (Y/N) were being honest, when she was assigned to investigate the disappearances of men in the city of Misano, she didn't expect to encounter Giyu Tomioka there searching for a different demon that was consuming only women. When the two ran into each other while gathering information on their own respective cases, imagine their surprise when seeing the other. Now, the two sat down near where a vendor was selling food, having ordered their respective dishes and then eating in silence.

But it didn't take long for it to break.

"I assume you're here on a mission too?" Giyu asked as he stared at the people passing by, the setting sun causing a brilliance of yellow and orange to be splashed along the outside scene. "I'm surprised ours are so closely linked."

"A demon killing only men and a demon killing only women... it is strange."

    "Strange?"

"Wouldn't one think that it's just the same demon killing multiple different people?"

"No," Giyu answered immediately as he flicked his sapphire eyes down to meet her (E/C) ones, watching as she searched his face for more explanation. "The attacks on just the women are in different areas than the attacks on the men. Of course, both trails of carnage lead to this exact town. Why, though, I do not know the answer to."

They didn't carry the conversation much further than that, merely standing up and giving their used dishes back to the vendor whilst thanking him for the meal before separating. If there was any possibility that the two demons were working together, it would be better for them to split up and cover more ground. To gain more information, to narrow down some possible hiding places, and to maybe catch them off guard was the tactic that they were using, and they were good at it. Because (Y/N) was calmer, the townspeople were much more susceptible in answering her questions and providing information.

    It made her smile.

But then, she met a woman who looked terrified. Her dark eyes were dull with heavy bags under them, her skin pale and sallow with her hair hanging down limply to frame her face. Even though she looked absolutely exhausted, she was quite pretty, jittering under the stares from men more so than the ones she received from other women.

    (Y/N)'s eyes narrowed.

"Excuse me? Miss?" She spoke as she approached the woman, setting a hand on her shoulder and watching as she visibly flinched under the touch. "Could I ask you a few questions?"

    "W-Why? W-What is it?"

"First, could you perhaps tell me your name?"

The woman looked away, gripping her dark cloak tighter over her shoulders before she mumbled out, "Tadana. Tadana Yuki."
