The moonlight seeped through the window and into your shared bedroom, presenting a calming environment that contrasted with your overwhelming thoughts.

"I would never love you."

His words echoed in your mind, distracting you from your slumber. You laid on your side, making sure you were as far away from your sleeping husband as possible. Your body tensed as you tried your best not to move a muscle, scared that any shift might wake him up. Though he was a deep sleeper, whenever he did wake up, he was always in a grumpy mood. To fix that, you had to leave the room.

Nothing can satisfy his needs.

But maybe Kang Gayeong can.

"What's taking you so long?" Yoongi entered the bedroom, adjusting his tie as his eyes traveled up and down your dress.

"I don't like being late."

"I'll be down in a second." You responded meekly, watching him shake his head in disappointment before leaving the room.

Today, Min Yoongi's parents held a party at their mansion which of course, everyone had to be present. But for you, it was just another day to maintain the facade of a perfect marriage in front of everyone.

As you hurried downstairs, you realized that your husband was already waiting for you in the car. You quickly left the house, skipping down the steps to see that the driver was also waiting as he kept the car door open for you.

You quickly entered to see an irritated expression on your husband's face.

"Be on time next time." He scolded you before looking straight ahead as he waited for the driver to get in his seat.

"You finally made it." Your father-in-law greeted the both of you at the front door.

"Where's mom?" Yoongi asked as he hugged his dad, his eyes scanning for his mom.

"She's inside. Come on, we're all waiting." He patted his son's back before heading up the stairs into the mansion.

To your surprise, Yoongi grabbed your waist, nudging you inside. You looked up at his calm expression as you followed his pace.

"Smile." He ordered, his eyes fixed on the crowded corridor before taking a deep breath, his grip on you tightened.

He opened his eyes again before plastering on a fake smile. As you walked together into the mansion, the guests turned to greet you, their polite smiles and friendly chatter were present. Yoongi's hand remained firmly on your waist, carefully guiding you through the crowd.

You smiled at everyone who called your name as the two of you walked, thanking everyone along the way.

"You are so perfect for each other."

"You two are very lucky to have each other."

Those words stung you on the inside. The contrast between this facade and the reality was a hard pill to swallow. You forced yourself to maintain the pleasant expression, nodding politely at each compliment. You were determined to get through the night without faltering.

"Mira~" Your mother-in-law pull you into an embrace, "I hope my son isn't troubling you."

"Not at all." You immediately replied, keeping your smile fixed in place as you noticed Yoongi tensing up from the sudden comment.

"I'll be back." Your husband dismissed himself, leaving you with his mom.

"You should come visit us more often." Your mother-in-law grabbed two glasses of champagne from a passing maid's tray.

You smiled and nodded, clinking your glass with hers before taking a sip.

"Enjoy the party." She tenderly rubbed the back of your head before walking away, disappearing into the crowd.

You stood in the corner of the ballroom, silently watching the lovely couples dancing gracefully. Music laughter filled the room but you felt a sense of isolation the moment your eyes laid on your husband who was busy talking to his friend. The way he looked so carefree as he ran his fingers through his hair before taking a sip of the champagne made you wish you were in his friend's place.

How nice it would be to see his genuine smile for once.
