You stood frozen, your eyes wide with surprise as you watched Yoongi stumble through the door, drenched from head to toe. Raindrops clung to his face and neck, dripping down onto the floor as he wiped them away with his shaky head. He impatiently kicked his soaked shoes off, nearly tripping in the process. His body tensed up as he tried not to shiver in front of you.

Without a word, you stepped forward and gently tugged on his coat, helping him shrug it off before hanging it on the coat rack to dry.

Yoongi's breaths were uneven but he remained silent, allowing you to guide him up the stairs.

You quickly fetched a fresh towel before climbing onto the bed behind him, your knees sinking into the mattress as you reached over to ruffle his hair dry. He sat there, his gaze fixed on the carpet, not once meeting your eyes.

After drying your hair, you carefully wrapped the towel around his shoulders, trying to warm him up.

"Miss Seo."

"What is it now?" You moved over to sit on the edge of the bed beside him.

Before you could process what was happening, Yoongi's hand wrapped around the nape of your neck, his grip firm yet gentle. In one swift motion, he pulled you closer until your ear was pressed against his chest. The rapid thumping of his heart echoed in your ear, its intensity causing you to hold your breath.

"Do you hear it?"

You remained still, your ear still pressed against his chest, listening to the frantic rhythm of his heart, not realizing Yoongi's fingers absentmindedly caressing your hair.

You slowly pulled away, looking up at your husband as you waited for him to say something.

"What are you trying to do...?" You whispered, backing away a bit more.

But before you could move back any further, Yoongi leaned in, dipping his head down to do the same, his arms wrapped securely around your waist, causing the towel to slip from his shoulders, landing softly on the carpet. The warmth of his body pressed against yours, making your breath hitch.

"Mr. Mi-"

"Shh..."

You tried to steady yourself but the pounding in your chest mirrored the rhythm you had just heard in his. Your hands hovered over his body, unsure whether to push him away or pull him closer. Yoongi's head rested near your heart as he memorized the rhythm.

"Miss Seo," Yoongi murmured again, his voice almost tender. The change in his tone sent a shiver down your spine, making you gulp, unsure of what was happening.

You never heard this tone from him before. Not even when he was with Gayeong.

As Yoongi lifted his head, his eyes met yours. He seemed to struggle with his own thoughts, his expression twisting into frustration.

"Fuck, what had gotten into me...?" Yoongi groaned as he ran his fingers through his damp hair in annoyance.

Silence filled the room as you both sat there, neither knowing what to say or do next. You felt nervous but that only made the flutter in your chest grow more intense.

"Are you scared of me?" He mumbled, his voice barely audible.

You only shook your head in response.

"Then how do you feel about me?"

Yoongi kept his arms firmly around your waist, refusing to let go. His eyes searched yours, desperately waiting for an answer.

"Hurt."

You blurted out and immediately looked down, too afraid to see his reaction.

"Why are you aski-"

Your words were cut short as Yoongi suddenly pulled you into a tight embrace.

"Mr. Min, please. Stop doing this." You pushed against his chest in an attempt to create some distance between you but Yoongi only held you tighter.

"How does it feel when I do this?" He ignored you, continuing to ask you questions, "Answer me."

"I..."

"You're not going anywhere until you answer." The vulnerability in his eyes clashed with the determination in his voice.

"How can I feel anything when I've always known deep down that you could never love me?"

You tried pushing him once more but his grip on you only tightened as if he couldn't bear hearing the truth.

"It hurts... Let me go." You raised your voice.

"I was always your second choice." The words came out in a choked whisper, a lump forming in your throat as you continued, "Stop playing with my feelings."

"I'm not," Yoongi responded instantly as he gently rubbed your back, trying to calm you down.

But you couldn't be comforted. Not by him. Not anymore.

"Go comfort your wife." Your voice broke as you pounded your fist onto his chest as hard as you could, causing him to grunt before pulling away. Taking your chance, you stood up, heading toward the door.

"Wait-"

You swat Yoongi's hand away, not looking back as you left the bedroom, slamming the door behind you.
