Yoongi straightened his tie as he stepped out of his car, pushing the door shut with a soft thud before turning his attention to his family's mansion. He took a deep breath, steadying himself before heading up the familiar steps.

"Ah, Mr. Min." The butler greeted him with a respectful bow as he opened the grand front door.

"Are my parents home?" Yoongi's expression remained blank.

"Yes. Please follow me."

Yoongi nodded as he quietly followed the butler, their footsteps echoing through the dimly lit hallway.

When they finally reached the living room, the butler opened the door and stepped aside. From inside, the murmur of voices could be heard, causing Yoongi to wonder if his parents had guests over.

But as soon as Yoongi stepped inside, he froze, his eyes widened in shock.

There, seated gracefully across from his parents, was the Kang Family.

And directly across from him, with a desperate, pleading look in her eyes, was Gayeong.

"Yoongi, you're right on time." His dad exclaimed, gesturing for him to take a seat.

"What's going on?" Yoongi remained standing, his eyes narrowing as he ignored Gayeong's desperate stare.

"We might need to rush the marriage." Yoongi's mom sighed, glancing at Gayeong with a mix of concern and surprise. Her tone was uncertain as if she was trying to make sense of the situation herself.

"What?" Yoongi's heart sank, confusion giving way to anger. He shook his head, struggling to process their words.

"Sit down." His dad ordered again, more firmly this time.

"I want to cancel the marriage."

Yoongi didn't hesitate to voice the decision he'd made the moment he stepped into the room. His eyes flickered to Gayeong who was crossing her arms, her gaze shifting subtly toward her parents as if silently waiting for their intervention in the unfolding situation.

"Yoongi—"

"I said I want to cancel the marriage."

Yoongi raised his voice, his eyes fixed on Gayeong who was visibly struggling to maintain her composure.

"Weren't you the one who agreed to this in the first place?" His mom's concerned voice cut through the tension, her head tilted slightly in confusion.

"I'm afraid we can't do that." His dad said calmly, leaning back in his chair as if bracing himself for what had to come. Yoongi turned to face him, his expression hardening.

"Why not?!" Yoongi demanded, taking a step closer to his dad, his frustrations boiling over.

"Sweethea—"

"Why?!"

His mom tried to intervene, her voice soothing, but Yoongi cut her off, his anger now directed at the Kang Family as well.

"Kang Gayeong is pregnant."

Time seemed to stop as the words sank in. Yoongi's eyes widened in shock, his breath catching in his throat. The anger that had fueled him moments before drained away, leaving him standing there, stunned and speechless.

"No..." Yoongi's voice trembled as he shook his head, refusing to accept what he had just heard, "That's not true..."

"I'd say we should start preparing for the marriage tomorrow." Yoongi's dad remained unmoved as he turned his attention back to the Kang Family.

"No!" Yoongi pleaded, "Let me expla—"

"Are you not going to take responsibility? This is your child, Yoongi," His dad cut him off sharply, his tone stern and unforgiving, "There is no other way."

Yoongi's mom grabbed onto her son's arm, trying to calm him down but it only fueled his desperation.

"No no no," Yoongi stammered, his eyes wide as he tried to reason with his dad, "DAD, PLEASE!"

"You'll be staying at the Kang's household tonight. The marriage will happen after your gala."

"DAD!"

"We have to do what's right. I don't want this to affect the Min Family's reputation." Yoongi's dad finally stood up, "I'll let your coworkers know. They'll head over to your place to take your stuff."

As the Kang Family stood and began bowing, signaling their departure, Yoongi felt panic tighten in his chest. They were moving forward with a plan he hadn't agreed to, a plan that would destroy everything he had tried to protect.

If this had happened before, Yoongi might've been thrilled. A marriage to someone like Gayeong would have been the pinnacle of success, everything he ever wanted.

But everything was different now.

"YOU NEED TO LET ME EXPLAIN!" Yoongi cried out, refusing to leave the room, "What about Mira?!"

The thought of Mira waiting for him at home, unaware of the whole situation was already painful enough. The pain of betraying her was already twisting inside him like a knife. If only he could have the chance to tell her the truth, to explain everything before it was too late.

But his words were lost in the oppressive silence that followed, the weight of his father's decision pressing down on him, suffocating any hope he had left.

"Don't worry, Sweetheart. She'll be okay. We'll take care of her." His mom whispered, rubbing his back soothingly.

But the reassurance only deepened the ache in his chest, the fear of what was to come looming larger than ever.
