"Maybe back then, a little just this much,
If I got the courage to stand before you, would everything be different now?
I am crying at this, disappeared, fallen
Sand castle that's left alone looking at the broken mask
And I still want you"

Yoongi took a deep breath as he stepped into the familiar lobby of his company. His eyes scanned the surroundings, noting the silence, the absence of his usual bustling team. It seemed like all the staff were busy working upstair, preparing for the gala.
He made his way to the elevator, the steady hum of the building doing nothing to calm the storm in his mind. His finger hesitated only for a second before pressing the button to the floor where his office was, the one place he had always been in control.
But today was different.
That's because he wasn't allowed to come alone.
Right beside him, like a shadow he couldn't escape, stood Kang Gayeong, his future wife.
"I can't wait for the gala." Gayeong's voice was filled with forced excitement as she looked up at Yoongi, expecting him to mirror his enthusiasm. But he kept his gaze fixed straight ahead, his jaw clenched in silence, refusing to acknowledge her.
Gayeong's expression shifted into a frown, her hand tightened around his arm like some sort of warning.
"Smile." Gayeong leaned closer, her voice dropping to a low, almost threatening whisper.
Yoongi remained still, his face betraying none of the emotions swirling inside him.
As soon as the elevator door slid open, Yoongi stepped out without a second glance, not bothering to wait for Gayeong.
"Go wait in the lounge." Yoongi ordered, not looking back as he spoke.
"Why can't I stay with you?" Gayeong stopped in her tracks, an eyebrow raised in irritation.
"I have work to do." Yoongi tried to pull his arm free from her grasp but Gayeong's grip only tightened, her fingers digging into his arm.
"So? Why can't I sit in your office?" Gayeong raised her voice, "I won't do any—"
"Fine." Yoongi cut her off, his voice raised in frustration as he turned to glare at her.
"Yoongi!" Gayeong snapped back, her voice shaking with anger as she finally released her grip on his arm, "Can you stop acting like this?!"
Yoongi clenched his jaw, trying to calm himself down as he turned the doorknob, pushing the door open.
But the moment he saw who was casually seated at his desk, Yoongi froze.
The familiar woman's focus was entirely on the documents in front of her, her other hand hovered over the computer mouse.
"Is there a probl—"
Mira paused when she looked up to see who it was. She immediately stood up, her eyes locking with Yoongi's.
Yoongi's breath hitched, his entire body reacting to the sight of Mira standing in his office. For a second, it felt as if the world around them had frozen and all the tension had melted away. His eyes locked onto hers and without thinking, he took a step forward, drawn to her like a magnetic pull.
Mira's lips parted slightly, her own emotions warring behind her gaze, but neither spoke.
Yoongi's hand hovered in the air, so close yet so far from Mira.
But just as quickly as he reached out, Gayeong yanked him back.
"GET OUT!" Gayeong's voice rang through the room as she glared at Mira.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?" Mira calmly stood in front of her, crossing her arms.
"I'm his wife." Gayeong's chin lifted with a smug sense of entitlement, a mocking smirk pulling at the corner of her lips.
"I am too." Mira responded nonchalantly.
"No you're not." Gayeong sneered, dismissing Mira with a wave of her hand as if her presence didn't matter, "Do you realize how pathetic you sound? Clinging to a man that doesn't even love y—"
"KANG GAYEONG!" Yoongi yelled, glaring at her, "Apologize to her."
"What?!" Gayeong started to become more irritated, "Am I wrong?!"
"Get out." Yoongi's eyes narrowed as he pointed at the door, his lips trembling with barely contained anger.
"MIN YOONGI!" Gayeong yelled back in disbelief as she stomped her heels.
Mira shook her head in annoyance, heading toward the door, trying to push past them but Yoongi quickly grabbed her wrist. They exchanged glances at one another.
"Get away from him!" Gayeong grabbed a fistful of Mira's dress with one hand and Yoongi's hand with the other, desperately trying to pry them apart.
"GAYEONG, STOP!" Yoongi forcefully shoved Gayeong away, his arms instinctively wrapping around Mira's waist, pulling her to safety.
Just as the tension reached its peak, the door burst open, the sound echoing through the room. Standing in the doorway was a familiar figure, his eyes scanning the room in disbelief.
"Mira, come here." Jihoon extended his arm, trying to reach for Mira's hand but Yoongi only tightened his hold around her, his grip firm and protective.
"Don't you fucking touch her." Yoongi threatened, clenching his jaw.
"Mira, we need to go." Jihoon calmly said, ignoring Yoongi's presence as he reached for her arm, pulling her toward the exit.
At the same time, Gayeong continued to forcefully pry Yoongi's arm away from Mira, each tug adding to the chaos.
And just like that, for what felt like their last moments together, as both Yoongi and Mira desperately tried to keep their hands together, they were wrenched apart.
