Your eyes fluttered open in the dark surroundings of your room. The cool breeze from the air conditioner nipped on your skin, causing you to burrow deeper into the warmth of the blanket.
As your vision started to adjust to the darkness, you realized that your husband was nowhere to be seen. You blankly stared at the empty spot beside you before slowly sitting up, rubbing your eyes. You reached over to turn on your night lamp before standing up, fixing your nightgown.
You made your way over to the door before opening it, expecting to hear the soothing notes of a piano melody but instead, you were met with silence.
Noticing that all the lights were still on, you headed downstairs. As soon as you heard rustling coming from the dining room, you rushed over.
You hesitantly took another step forward, entering the dining room to see Yoongi sitting there at the table, his head resting on his arm. Multiple bottles of unfamiliar alcohol were scattered across the table, some of it spilling on both the table and the floor.
Your eyes widened as you approached him, the stench of alcohol finally hitting you. You placed a hand on his back, gently patting to ensure he was still conscious.
"Mr. Min..?"
Your husband let out a grunt in response.
You carefully moved the unfinished glass of alcohol out of the way, making sure that he wouldn't accidentally knock it over.
You patted him again, but he refused to sit up. You reluctantly touched his forehead with the back of your hand, only to realize that he was burning.
You quickly grabbed the nearby jug of water before pouring it into an empty glass. You lightly poked his arm, causing him to raise his head a little. You put your hand under his chin, trying to keep his head up.
Holding the glass up to his lips, you poured the water slowly, watching as Yoongi surprisingly drank the entire glass without protest.
After setting the glass down, you noticed Yoongi attempting to sit up, his body wobbled precariously, causing him to lose balance. Your heart skipped a beat as you rushed to his side, wrapping your arms around him to steady him.
"Sit properl-"
"Don't go."
You felt his strong arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer. The sudden embrace made you tense, your body reacting instinctively to his firm hold.
"I'm not Gayeong." You rolled your eyes, trying to pry him off of you.
"I know." Yoongi's arms tightened around you as if seeking reassurance from your presence.
He pressed his face against your waist, the warmth of his breath brushing against your skin. The subtle vulnerability in his tone made it difficult to push him away.
No, Mira. Remember how he treated you?
He doesn't love you. He's just drunk.
"Let me go." You firmly said, looking into the distance as you waited for him to let go. Unfortunately, he didn't move an inch.
"You need to lie down. Come." You moved back slightly, encouraging him to release his hold. After several attempts, you finally managed to get Yoongi on his feet.
You steadied him before taking him to the living room.
As soon as you stepped into the room, you gently eased him onto the sofa, arranging his legs so he could lie down comfortably
You exhaled loudly, standing there as you contemplated grabbing a wet towel to help Yoongi cool down.
Just as you were about to step away, a hand grabbed onto your wrist, pulling you back. You stumbled back and shot a frustrated look at Yoongi.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm gonna go get-"
"You're gonna go find Jihoon, aren't you?"
The question hit you like a jolt, leaving you momentarily speechless. Your mouth fell open slightly as you stared at Yoongi.
"Is it because he's more good looking than me?"
You scoffed in disbelief before shaking your head.
"You're talking nonsense."
"Then is it because he treats you better than I do?"
"Yes." You didn't hesitate to answer him. Well, it was the truth anyway.
"No." He shook his head, his eyes flashing with intensity as he yanked you closer. The sudden movement caused you to topple onto him, your faces just inches apart.
"I can treat you better."
"And what makes you so sure hm?" You snapped back, "You're only saying this because you're drunk."
"You'll forget everything when you're sober." Your own words seemed to echo in your mind and you couldn't shake the unexpected ache in your heart.
"I won't," Yoongi chuckled into the pillow, "I remembered how we were in this same position the first time I was drunk in front of you."
"How could I ever forget your warmth..."
His words seemed to linger between you. For a moment, you were caught between the urge to push him away again and the deep, conflicting emotions his vulnerability stirred within you.
