"I'm glad everyone is here." Your husband announced, commanding the attention of the room as he stood in front of the projector which displayed the agenda for today and tomorrow.

"Does Miss Seo like red?"

Seokjin's story echoed in your head, distracting you from your current task. Seokjin wasn't the type to make up stories, but none of it made any sense. Why would Yoongi even care about something as trivial as your favorite color?

You forced yourself to shake off the distraction, focusing instead on Hoseok who had taken over the presentation. You sat up straighter, listening carefully as he laid out the details. But despite your best efforts, you couldn't resist a quick glance at Yoongi.

And there he was, staring directly at you.

Was he staring because he caught you zoning out earlier? Or was there something on your face?

The intensity of his gaze made it difficult to tell but you quickly returned your attention to the presentation, pretending to be fully engrossed.

As the meeting continued, you found yourself more and more absorbed in the details of the event planning. It wasn't even your responsibility yet you felt a deep connection to the process. Planning events like this was something you genuinely enjoyed. But coming to think of it, this would be the first and the last time you'd be involved in something like this.

"Alright, that's all for today. No meeting tomorrow." Yoongi dismissed everyone as he began stacking up the paperwork in front of him.

"I think there's a scheduled meeting with one of the enterprises. You sure you can handle that alone?" Yoongi turned his attention to Hoseok.

"Oh don't worry about that. The two of you should go rest." Hoseok nodded before waving goodbye as he made his way out of the room.

Great, now you're left alone with him again.

You watched the door slowly close behind Hoseok, letting out a sigh as you reluctantly turned to face Yoongi.

"We should head home and get ready for dinner."

Right. Gayeong will be there.

"Go ahead." You quickly responded, avoiding his gaze as you began gathering your things.

"Then where are you gonna be?" Yoongi narrowed his eyes.

For a moment, you considered telling him that the last thing you wanted was to sit through another torturous dinner, but instead, you just shrugged casually.

"I'll be at my parents' house." You mumbled, your fingers nervously clutching your belongings. You didn't stop to look back at Yoongi as you made your way to the door heading out without saying goodbye.

"We finally have the time to ourselves," Gayeong said with a satisfied smile, resting her chin on her palm as she delicately scooped up a bite of mashed potatoes.

"And bringing me to this restaurant instead of your place was a great idea. Do you remember how special this place is for us?"

Our first date.

"You sure I can't come to the gala?" Gayeong pouted, her lips forming a small frown as she tried to persuade Yoongi.

"That will only raise suspicion. You'll be able to do things freely once we're married." Yoongi shook his head, remaining resolute.

The mention of marriage made Gayeong's eyes sparkle with excitement, her mind immediately drifting off into a daydream.

"Our wedding would be beautiful," her voice tinged with fantasy as she painted the picture in her head, "A large, fancy venue, so many guests, classical music playing, and my dress-- oh everything will be perfect. Don't you think I would look so beautiful in white?"

She reached across the table, her fingers wrapping around Yoongi's hands as she gazed at him with pure adoration.

But somehow, Yoongi found himself struggling to muster the same enthusiasm. There was a time when he had eagerly imagined seeing Gayeong in a wedding dress, but now that the moment was approaching, something inside him felt... off.

"Hey," Gayeong's voice pulled him back from his thoughts, her eyes searching his face, "Aren't you excited? We're getting married!"

"Yeah." Yoongi forced a smile and nodded but the response felt automatic, as if he was going through the motions rather than truly feeling the joy she expected.

As Gayeong continued to ramble on, a creeping sense of unease settled within Yoongi. It wasn't the repetitive chatter about wedding plans that was bothering him, it was something else. He just couldn't exactly tell what it was.

But whatever it was, he knew he shouldn't be here any longer.

"Yoongi!" Gayeong's voice sharpened with irritation as she noticed his distant gaze, knocking on the table to get his attention, "What's wrong with you?!"

Her words jolted him, but instead of explaining, Yoongi simply stood up.

"I need to go." Yoongi's abrupt action caught Gayeong off guard. Her eyes widened with annoyance, her irritation quickly shifting into anger as she processed his sudden departure.

"I'll go ahead and pay."

"Hey, wai-"

Yoongi was already moving toward the cashier without waiting for her response.

"Yoongi!" Gayeong hurried after him, clinging to his arm, "Where are you going?!"

"Home."
