You heard the slam of the front door as you went straight ahead, refusing to look back at your husband.
"Are you just doing this to get back at me?" Yoongi's voice echoed through the empty halls as he trailed behind you.
"Why would I do that?" You remained calm as you continued walking, already aiming for the guest bedroom. At this point, you might as well move all your belongings downstairs.
As you reached for the doorknob, a hand grabbed onto your wrist, forcing you to turn around.
"You got what you've always wanted, Mr. Min. What more could you possibly want?" You dropped your tone, your expression remained calm as you stared at your furious husband.
"You're still living in my house. You still need to follow the rules." He hissed, pinning you against the door with his body and blocking your escape with his outstretched arms.
"Not for long." You tried shoving him away but he grabbed both of your wrists together, squeezing tightly enough for you to yelp in pain. You clenched your teeth, twisting your wrist desperately, trying to break free from his hold.
Yoongi's glare faded into a blank stare, his hold gradually loosening. He took a deep breath before leaning in closer to your ear.
"How about we make a deal, hm?"
His breath was warm as his lips brushed against the shell of your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.
"Continue playing your part until my company's gala. After that, we can file for a divorce, just like how you've always wanted."
You turned your head slightly, your eyes slowly meeting his as you listened carefully.
"Divorce?'
"And I'll cover the rest of your family's financial needs."
Your eyes widened a bit, starting to become interested in his offer. The stakes were higher than you had anticipated.
Now, you can't let this opportunity go to waste.
"2 billion won." You declared, successfully pushing him away from you.
Your husband's eyes narrowed with determination as he nodded in agreement.
"It's a deal then."
Without offering any further response, Yoongi turned and walked away, heading upstairs to prepare for bed. You remained still, standing outside the guest bedroom as you watched him walk away.
The gala is in ten days.
Just ten more days.
And you'll finally be free.

"You what...?" Hoseok's mouth dropped open in disbelief as he waited for Yoongi to repeat himself.
"We're filing for a divorce."
"That's not the reaction I was expecting from you." Yoongi sighed, shaking his head.
"What? Do you really think I should be cheering?" Hoseok massaged his temples as he let out a frustrated grunt, "You sure she wants to do this? You didn't pressure her into it, did you?"
"I didn't need to pressure her. I just proposed the idea and she decided to take it." Yoongi settled onto the sofa and leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees.
"You really suck at reading emotions though," Hoseok retorted with a scoff, turning his attention back to his computer, "How do you know she's not just going along with it to make you happy?"
"Call me nosy if you want," Hoseok continued, grabbing a stack of paperwork before flipping through it, "But I'm genuinely worried about Mira. I know you don't have feelings for her, but can you at least show her some respect? And stop bringing Gayeong into this."
The room fell silent except for the sound of rustling papers as Hoseok continued to sift through the documents, leaving Yoongi to sit in quiet contemplation, unsure of how to respond.
It's not his fault, is it?
Mira should be relieved, even happy, about this decision. It's what she wanted after all.
But... What was it about this decision that left him feeling so unsettled and unsure?
