Leon nearly spits out his water causing him to cough hard. Megan quickly went up to him and patted his back, "Woah woah woah, Leon you okay?"
Leon clears his throat and looks up at her, "Me and Melody dating? Where the hell did you get that idea from?"
"W-Well, other than the fact that you never told me about her, you were probably smiling and laughing with her so... I would assume..."
Leon noticed how Megan was answering, her face turned away, the small pout on her lips, and a hint of red on her ears. His face started to heat up with her reaction, don't tell me... she's jealous?
Megan felt like what had been a good ten minutes then looked at Leon, "So you and her aren't dating?" He quickly shakes his head, "Of course not Megan, not a chance."
Woah, that was kinda harsh... Megan thought, she felt like a bit of an idiot for assuming that Leon was with someone but then again she had never seen Leon with a girlfriend in high school. Maybe he was too focused on school to even consider dating.
She quietly sighed and asked him, "Okay then... since now that I know that you and Melody aren't dating. Can you explain to me why it looked like you two were hanging out?"
He nodded as he lay on his bed, "Yeah I can do that."
~A few hours earlier~
Leon watched Megan head over to the Police K9 training center with a heavy sigh, Damn it... what is wrong with me, of course, Mike would do something stupid and piss Megan off. Hopefully, she will be okay.
He then walks away to meet with Melody at their usual spot, the bench by the oak tree, Melody has probably seen that coming between the two. At least I told Megan like she wanted, cause it would've led to something worse... Maybe... Most definitely...
Leon spots Melody waiting for him by the bench, he sits down next to her, "Hey, sorry if I was a bit late. Megan got in trouble."
"Oh no, what did Mike do?"
He rubs the back of his neck, "I couldn't hear most of what happened, but I saw how much he provoked her which led to a fight."
"A fight?" Melody asked with concern.
"Not like a brawl... more like Megan pinned him to the dirt and threatened to kick his ass if he kept talking badly about me..."
She hummed with acknowledgment then let out a small scoff, "Honestly he kinda deserves it. From the way he acts, I would like to see him get his ass kicked."
Leon chuckles, "She would probably do it in a heartbeat so don't give her any ideas," he sighed softly knowing that Megan was getting punishment for what Mike had done. He may have not known what exactly he said about him but he didn't like how it made Megan upset, "I hate how she got in trouble because of him, it isn't fair..."
Melody noticing Leon's shift in tone decided to reassure him, "Don't worry, Megan will be fine. Besides you will be able to get back at them for even thinking about targeting her for the prank."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I just can't help but worry about her..."
"I know you are but... don't you think that you shouldn't hover over her a lot? I get that you want to make sure she's okay but she is a grown woman who can take care of herself. With how she handled Mike she seems capable."
