Natasha's pov:
Whichever idiot told me that sleeping away my problems was gonna solve everything, they were dead wrong. Here I am, rubbing my eyes in disbelief whilst staring at my screen. 382 miscalls and 495 texts. The only thing I'm thankful for is the power button because I couldn't put myself through more hurt.
I loved him. He was my everything.
He was all I had left. Cassie knocks on my door and opens it with a pitiful smile. "I'm so sorry to do this but-" I interrupt her. "I get it. It's fine I'll be out in the next 5 minutes." I save her the benefit of the doubt. I've already overstayed my welcome here, I'm not going to abuse her kindness too.
Like other people in my life have.
"Have a safe flight." I add before she gently closes the door. Time to hit the road. Before I leave my makeshift bedroom, I take a look in the mirror. God, I'm a mess. My hair and teeth are unbrushed, my eyes are swollen. my cheeks are puffy. My heart shattered into a million pieces.
I have no where to go.
I briefly hug the girls goodbye and hit the road. Was driving whilst heartbroken a good idea? Absolutely not. Was I doing it anyways? I had to. The worst part about all this was that I was going to a destination where I'm not welcomed because I have nowhere else.
I'd rather not sleep in the streets tonight so this will suffice.
Time Passes:
It's quiet. So very quiet. I knew that it was a Saturday but knowing my bio brothers, they would've woken up at 6am. So you can understand my confusion when it was 9am and the house was silent as a mouse. I parked Nico's car outside the back gate to avoid suspicion.
I softly crept upstairs to my bedroom but got a shock when I opened the door.
Xander lays face down on my pillow. What the hell was he doing here in my bed? I gently close the door and step towards the sleeping beauty. "Xander?" I question. He groans and grumbles. Can this fatass move off my bed already? I'll I want to do is bed rot till the end of eternity and he's in my way.
Just my luck.
I sigh and get under the covers to join him. Xander hugs one pillow as if he never wants to let go. Weird. Whatever he's doing I ignore it and turn on one side to try get some needed shut eye, but a hopeful voice speaks from behind me. "Natasha?" Xander's
tone holds excitement but it quickly goes away once he realises that I'm in bed."What are you doing here?" He softly asks with concern etched into his tone.
Shit, now I need to give him a bland reason. "You tell me." I mutter and try close my eyes. "Where's your stuff?" He slides off the bed getting the vibe. "In Nico's trunk." I just want to sleep my days away, why can't he get that? "Back gate." I add for no apparent reason. I hear his steps but refuse to open my eyes.
"Oh alright. I'll bring them here for you to unpack." He quickly exits the room leaving me with my thoughts alone in the room.
Chase's pov:
I briefly wave at my older brother's secretary before heading off into his office. "If it's not about the Americans, I don't want to hear it." He instructs without sparing me a second glance. I hesitantly take a seat. "It's about Nat." I simply state whilst keepin' it short and simple. This gains his attention. A flicker of concern passes through him.
