Y/N hummed to herself as she walked through the woods behind her house. It was a beautiful evening outside; clear skies with a cool breeze that ruffled the leaves of the trees. Crickets were chirping, but other than that and Y/N's humming, it was peacefully quiet outside.
As she walked, Y/N ran her hand along the trunks of the trees, feeling their roughness beneath her fingers. There was something about being in nature, connecting with it, that was just so calming to her.
Y/N closed her eyes as she walked, keeping her hands on the trees. She knew these woods well and felt confident enough to walk blindly through them... until suddenly, her hand ran over something cold and hard- something unnatural.
Opening her eyes, she gasped. She was clutching a door knob... but it was built into the tree? Then she noticed the tree's unnatural orange colour. Stepping back, Y/N realised that the doorknob was attached to a jack-o-lantern-shaped door that was set into the tree. She glanced around her... more doors, each one with a different shape, embedded into a tree.
"What is this...?" She wondered aloud, turning the knob of the jack-o-lantern-shaped door. Her heart raced as she gazed inside the darkness of the tree. The door seemingly led to nowhere. But there was only one way to find out.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N stepped inside the tree and closed the jack-o-lantern door behind her.

In an instant, the world around her transformed. Gone were the lush green trees and soft earth. Instead, Y/N found herself on a winding cobblestone path leading to a town that looked like it had sprung straight from a Tim Burton film. The sky was an eerie orange, and carved pumpkins grinned at her from every corner.
"Welcome to Halloween Town!" a cheerful voice called out, making Y/N jump.
She whirled around to find herself face-to-skull with the tallest, skinniest skeleton she'd ever seen. He wore a pinstriped suit and a bat bow tie, and his eye sockets gleamed with curiosity.
"Oh my," the skeleton said, his bony hand flying to his chest. "You're... alive!"
Y/N nodded, too stunned to speak.
"How marvellous! I'm Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King. And you are...?"
"Y/N," she managed to squeak out.
Jack's skull stretched into a wide grin. "Y/N! What a lovely name. Tell me, how did you find your way to our little town?"
As Y/N explained her discovery of the oddly shaped doors, Jack listened with rapt attention. His excitement was palpable, and Y/N found herself relaxing in his presence despite his otherworldly appearance.
"This is wonderful!" Jack exclaimed when she finished. "We so rarely get visitors from the world of the living. Would you allow me to show you around?"
Y/N hesitated for just a moment before nodding. There was something about Jack's charm and enthusiasm that put her at ease. Plus, when would she ever get another chance to explore a town full of monsters and ghouls?
Jack offered her his arm, which Y/N took with a shy smile. As they strolled through the town, he pointed out all the sights – the guillotine in the town square, the bubbling fountain filled with green slime, and the crooked houses that defied the laws of physics.
To Y/N's surprise, the residents of Halloween Town were far from frightening. The vampires tipped their hats politely, the werewolf offered her a friendly growl, and even the clown with the tear-away face seemed more silly than scary.
"What do you think?" Jack asked as they paused atop Spiral Hill, overlooking the pumpkin patch.
Y/N took in the view, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's incredible, Jack. I never imagined a place like this could exist."
