Two weeks after his discharge, Y/N stood in front of his bathroom mirror, adjusting his shirt collar for the tenth time. The bruises from the accident had faded to yellowing patches, and his movements were less stiff, though still cautious. Tonight was important - his first official date with Lexie.

The doorbell rang, sending his heart racing. They'd agreed he'd cook dinner at his place, given he was still recovering. Opening the door, he found Lexie holding a bottle of wine, her smile bright and slightly nervous.

"I know you said you'd handle everything, but I couldn't come empty-handed," she said, stepping inside.

Y/N grinned, taking the bottle. "I think we can make an exception for good wine." He paused, taking in her appearance. "You look beautiful, Lex."

A blush crept across her cheeks. "You don't look so bad yourself, for someone who had a ceiling fall on him recently."

As they moved to the kitchen, the initial nervousness faded into their usual comfortable dynamic, but with an added layer of anticipation. Y/N stirred the pasta sauce while Lexie leaned against the counter, wine glass in hand.

"So, Dr. Grey," Y/N teased, "is this what you imagined when you agreed to be my movie night buddy months ago?"

Lexie laughed, the sound warming his heart. "Honestly? Maybe. A little. I mean, not the nearly dying part, but..." she trailed off, then met his eyes. "I've had a crush on you for a while."

"Really?" Y/N turned fully towards her, sauce forgotten. "Because I've been trying to work up the courage to ask you out since that night you recited the entire periodic table at Joe's."

"That was just showing off," Lexie grinned, stepping closer.

"It was incredibly hot," Y/N murmured, closing the distance between them.

Their first kiss was gentle, tentative, both of them smiling into it. When they pulled apart, Lexie rested her forehead against his.

"The sauce is burning," she whispered.

"Let it," Y/N replied, pulling her in for another kiss.

About a month later, Lexie and Y/N walked hand in hand into Grey Sloan Memorial, where Y/N was due for his final check-up. As they approached the nurses' station, they were met with knowing smiles and barely concealed whispers.

"Okay, what's going on?" Lexie asked, eyeing her colleagues suspiciously.

Cristina Yang appeared, a rare grin on her face. "Pay up, people! I called it - one month post-discharge!"

Lexie's jaw dropped as she watched money changing hands among the hospital staff. "Were you... betting on us?"

"Of course we were," Meredith chimed in, handing a twenty to a triumphant Cristina. "Some of us," she shot a look at Alex Karev, "thought it would take at least three months. I had my money on two."

Y/N couldn't help but laugh. "How long has this been going on?"

"Since the first time Lexie came back from one of your 'movie nights' with that dopey smile on her face," Alex grumbled, clearly unhappy about losing the bet.

Lexie buried her face in Y/N's shoulder, mortified but laughing. "I did not have a dopey smile!"

"Oh, you definitely did," said Arizona Robbins, passing by with a chart. "And Y/N, the times you'd bring her coffee? The whole hospital could see the hearts in your eyes."
