The park was eerily quiet at night, a serene contrast to the hustle and bustle it saw during the day. Beneath the glow of a flickering streetlamp, Inko Midoriya and Mitsuki Bakugo sat together on a weathered wooden bench, their hands brushing occasionally, as if testing the waters of their stolen intimacy.
"I can't believe we keep sneaking out like teenagers," Inko murmured, her voice soft and laced with guilt.
Mitsuki chuckled, leaning back with her characteristic boldness. "Come on, Inko. You need this as much as I do. Hell, probably more. Don't act like you're not having fun."
Inko's cheeks flushed as Mitsuki's hand slid up her arm, the familiar warmth sending shivers through her. Their secret meetings had started innocently enough—two mothers venting about their chaotic lives—but somewhere along the way, those frustrations turned into quiet whispers and tentative kisses under the cloak of night.
What they didn't know was that someone had been watching.
Y/N leaned against a tree, just beyond the edge of the lamplight. His hands were stuffed into his coat pockets, his breath clouding in the chill air. He had stumbled upon them weeks ago, during one of his late-night strolls to clear his head. At first, he thought he was imagining things—two women, tender and unguarded in the shadows. But when he recognized Inko and Mitsuki, the mothers of his children's closest friends, he couldn't stop himself from watching.
Tonight, he decided to do more than just observe.
The bench creaked slightly as Inko shifted closer to Mitsuki, their laughter fading as they shared another kiss. It was hesitant at first, but Mitsuki's hand cupped Inko's face, tilting her head for a deeper, more passionate connection.
Y/N stepped forward, his boots crunching softly against the gravel path.
"I hope I'm not interrupting."
The two women jolted apart, Mitsuki standing defensively while Inko pressed a hand to her chest in shock.
"Y-Y/N?" Inko stammered, her voice a trembling mix of surprise and embarrassment.
Mitsuki's eyes narrowed. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Y/N held up his hands in mock surrender, a disarming smile spreading across his face. "Relax, I didn't mean to startle you. I was just... taking a walk. Didn't expect to stumble upon something so... intimate."
Inko's blush deepened, and she looked away, clearly mortified. Mitsuki, on the other hand, crossed her arms and scowled. "You've got some nerve sneaking up on people like that. What, you've just been spying on us?"
Y/N hesitated, then shrugged. "I wouldn't call it spying. More like... admiring from afar."
The tension thickened, but Y/N didn't falter. He took a slow step closer, his gaze flicking between the two women.
"You're both incredible. Beautiful, strong, and clearly very good for each other. I couldn't help but wonder... why keep this all to yourselves?"
Inko's wide eyes darted to Mitsuki, who looked torn between yelling at him and hearing him out.
"What's it to you?" Mitsuki finally asked, her voice sharp.
Y/N exhaled, his breath visible in the cold air. "Because I know what it's like to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Single parenthood isn't easy, is it? We all need someone to lean on."
His words seemed to strike a chord with Inko, who bit her lip and looked down.
"And I'll be honest," Y/N continued, his voice softening, "I care about both of you. A lot more than I probably should."
