Meg walked through the grove near her home, enjoying the peace and quiet that came with her newfound freedom of not being owned by anyone- not even Hades himself. She was still trying to find her place in society, but things were going well.

She stopped to pick a few daisies in a nearby bush when she suddenly heard some grunting and some muffled voices. Dropping her daisies, she moved to investigate. Meg crouched down and peered through the bushes. "Phil?" she murmured, noticing the familiar Satyr yelling out directions. But at whom?

Her gaze moved a little to the left and landed on a strapping young man- shirtless with a shield strapped to his back and a sword in his hand.

"Come on, you wanna be great, but keep giving me weak swings! Why, you'd barely even knock me over with a swing like that!" Phil chastised the young man, tapping his hoof impatiently.

The man shook his head and smiled. "I'm trying my best here. This is only my third day under your tutelage."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just start again," Phil grumbled, sitting back on a stump.

Meg watched as the man began his training exercise again; he was swinging at a tree, chipping away at it with his sword as he practised his technique. Sweat was glistening off his body, his muscles shining. His eyes were bright and full of spirit, and the prettiest shade of (your eye colour) she'd ever seen.

Intrigued, Meg shifted back to continue to watch, but she accidentally stepped on a twig, snapping it. Gasping, she noticed the man and Phil look over. She didn't want to be caught snooping, so she bolted away, leaving the man and the Satyr to investigate empty bushes.

Later in the afternoon, Meg found that she couldn't stop thinking of the man she'd seen training with Phil. He was extremely attractive, there was no doubting that, and he had such an alluring presence... he was one of those guys you just... wanted to be around.

"I need to get my mind off him..." Meg said to herself as she emerged from the grove. She saw the crowded agora a bit away from the grove and decided that perhaps she could peruse the market stalls to distract herself.

She entered the agora, weaving in between couples and dodging playful children. She smiled- even though Meg wasn't the type to love crowds, there was something just so lively about the public space that made it not so bad today.

As she walked, her eyes lit up when she found a stall filled with books. She made a beeline for it and took a look at the options. To her surprise, the vendor was a woman like her.

"Hello dear..." the woman looked her up and down with smiling eyes. "I know of a book you'll just love."

She handed Meg a copy of a book about Athena, the goddess of wisdom. "This does look interesting. Here." She handed some coins to the woman and opened the book as she walked away, flipping through the pages.

She didn't get very far, because she only took a few steps before running into someone. "Oh!" Meg fell flat on her ass, her book falling out of her hands and onto the street.

"I'm so sorry!" said whoever she'd run into. But the voice sounded familiar. She looked up, her eyes widening. It was the man from earlier that day! Meg swallowed, her face flushing red as he extended his hand to her.

"No, I'm sorry," she said quickly as she took his hand. It was so soft yet firm at the same time... and his grip was strong as he effortlessly helped her up. "I should've been watching where I was going. I had my head stuck in a..." Meg trailed off as she looked for her book on Athena.
