The creaky front door of the Gallagher house swung shut behind Fiona as she stepped inside, her shoulders sagging with the weight of the day. The usual cacophony of siblings arguing, TV blaring, and general chaos was conspicuously absent. For once, the house was silent.

Fiona leaned against the door, closing her eyes and savouring the quiet. It was a rare night – Lip was at college, Ian was working a late shift, Debbie was at a sleepover, Carl was at a friend's house, and Liam was staying with V and Kev. Even Frank was nowhere to be seen, probably passed out in some alley or causing trouble elsewhere in the South Side.

A soft knock on the door startled her out of her reverie. Fiona's lips curved into a smile as she opened it to reveal Y/N standing on the porch, a brown paper bag in one hand and a familiar warm smile on his face.

"Hey, beautiful," Y/N said, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on Fiona's cheek. "Ready for a night of absolutely nothing?"

Fiona's laugh was tinged with both amusement and relief. "God, yes. Come on in."

Y/N stepped inside, setting the bag on the coffee table as Fiona locked the door behind him. "I brought some supplies," he said, unpacking the bag. "Microwave popcorn, that fancy hot chocolate you like, and..." He pulled out a bottle with a flourish. "A little something to help you unwind."

Fiona's eyebrows rose as she recognized the label of her favourite whiskey. "You're a lifesaver, you know that?"

Y/N shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "I have my moments. Now, why don't you go change into something comfortable while I get things set up down here?"

Fiona didn't need to be told twice. She headed upstairs, shedding her work clothes and stepping into the shower. As the hot water cascaded over her tired muscles, she felt the stress of the day begin to melt away. It was a luxury to take her time, to not have to rush through her routine or worry about conserving hot water for the rest of the family.

When she emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a towel, the scent of popcorn wafted up the stairs. Fiona smiled to herself as she pulled on a pair of soft pyjama pants and an old, comfortable t-shirt. She ran a brush through her damp hair and padded downstairs barefoot.

The living room had been transformed. Y/N had dimmed the lights and lit a few candles, their warm glow creating a cosy atmosphere. The TV was on, volume low, playing some mindless reality show. On the coffee table, two steaming mugs of hot chocolate sat beside a bowl of popcorn and two glasses of whiskey.

Y/N looked up from his spot on the couch, his face softening as he took in Fiona's relaxed appearance. "Feel better?"

Fiona nodded, crossing the room to join him on the couch. "Much. This is... perfect." She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "Thank you."

Y/N wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "You deserve it, Fi. You work so hard, take care of everyone else. It's about time someone took care of you for a change."

Fiona settled against him, relishing the warmth of his body and the comfort of his presence. It was so rare for her to have moments like this – moments where she could just be Fiona, not the caretaker, not the responsible one, not the glue holding her family together. With Y/N, she could let her guard down, could be vulnerable in a way she rarely allowed herself to be.

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, sipping their hot chocolate and munching on popcorn. The mindless chatter of the TV provided a soothing background noise, but neither of them was really paying attention to it.

"Tell me about your day," Y/N said eventually, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on Fiona's arm.

Fiona sighed, taking a sip of her whiskey. "Same old, same old. Work was crazy busy. Had to cover for someone who called in sick, so I ended up pulling a double shift. Then I had to run to the store because we were out of, well, pretty much everything. Oh, and I got a call from Lip's college about some paperwork that needs to be filled out for his financial aid."
