The Danger Room hummed with latent energy as Rogue paced its metallic floor, her boots echoing in the cavernous space. Her communicator had pinged ten minutes ago with a brief message: "Mission complete. ETA Xavier's: 20 min."

Y/N was coming home.

Three weeks had passed since her blind ninja boyfriend had left for his covert operation in Tokyo. His unique combination of telepathy, telekinesis, and unparalleled stealth abilities made him invaluable for such missions. But to Rogue, his most precious gift was the telekinetic field he could generate—a protective barrier that allowed them to touch without her powers absorbing his life force.

"Sugar, you've been playin' hard to get even from halfway 'round the world," she muttered, adjusting her leather gloves. During his mission, their telepathic conversations had been brief, professional... and terribly teasing. Each time she'd tried to steer their psychic link toward more intimate territory, Y/N had gracefully redirected her, always with that infuriating smirk she could picture perfectly.

Sure enough, 20 minutes later, the Danger Room's entrance hissed open. Y/N stood in the doorway, still in his mission gear—a sleek black uniform with subtle red accents, his eyes hidden behind a visor that helped him process sensory information. Despite his blindness, his other heightened senses and powers made him one of the X-Men's most formidable members.

"Tadaima," he said softly. I'm home.

Rogue's heart skipped a beat, but she forced her voice to remain steady. "Well, well. Look what the cat dragged in."

Y/N tilted his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "I can sense your thoughts, Rogue-chan. They're... rather loud."

"Then you know exactly what I want here, sugar." Rogue pressed a button on her wrist device, activating the Danger Room's systems. The space around them shimmered as holograms sprang to life, transforming the room into a moonlit Japanese garden, complete with a burbling stream and the soft rustle of cherry blossoms.

Y/N's smile widened. "Attempting to ambush a ninja in his natural habitat? Bold strategy."

"Oh, this ain't an ambush, sugar." Rogue cracked her knuckles. "This is a challenge. You've been keepin' me at arm's length for weeks. If you want a kiss, you're gonna have to earn it."

The air crackled with anticipation as Y/N shifted into a fighting stance. "As you wish, koibito."

Rogue struck first, launching herself into the air with her borrowed flight powers. She knew Y/N could sense her movements with his telepathy, but she was counting on her superhuman strength and speed to give her an edge. She dove toward him, fist extended.

At the last possible moment, Y/N gracefully sidestepped, his movements fluid as water. "Too direct," he teased, his Japanese accent thickening as it always did during combat. "You're usually more subtle."

"Subtle ain't what I'm goin' for tonight, darlin'." Rogue spun in mid-air, using her momentum to aim a kick at his midsection.

Y/N caught her ankle with his telekinesis, but Rogue had anticipated this. She used the hold as an anchor point, swinging her other leg up in an arc. Y/N was forced to release her to avoid the hit, and she landed in a crouch among the holographic cherry trees.

Their dance continued, a mesmerizing blend of martial arts and mutant powers. Y/N's telekinesis sent holographic stones and branches flying toward Rogue, who dodged or smashed through them. His telepathy allowed him to anticipate her moves, but her raw power and flight ability kept him on his toes.
