Nothing seemed wrong when, a few days after they started dating, Debbie wanted Y/N to meet one of her friends. However... it wasn't who he was expecting at all.
The Alibi Room was quieter than usual that evening, with just a few regulars scattered at the bar. Y/N's hand was intertwined with Debbie's as they walked in, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw who was waiting at their table.
Svetlana.
She sat there, poised as ever, a knowing smirk playing at her lips as their eyes met. Y/N felt Debbie squeeze his hand excitedly.
"Y/N, this is one of my closest friends, Svetlana," Debbie said, pulling him toward the table. "Svet, this is Y/N, the guy I was telling you about."
"Oh yes," Svetlana drawled, her accent thick with amusement. "We have met."
Debbie's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "You have? When?"
"Ask him," Svetlana said, taking a slow sip of her vodka. "Ask him about woman he meet on street few nights ago."
Y/N felt his face grow hot as Debbie turned to look at him. "Wait... Svetlana was the woman you told me about? The one from that night?"
"I... yes," Y/N admitted, running a hand through his hair nervously. "I didn't know you knew each other. I swear, Debs, if I had known—"
"You don't call," Svetlana interrupted, fixing him with a stern look. "Very rude."
"Because I fell in love with Debbie!" Y/N protested. "I couldn't—"
To his absolute surprise, both women burst out laughing. He looked between them, completely bewildered.
"Oh my God, your face," Debbie giggled, pulling him down to sit beside her. "Y/N, relax. Breathe."
"I don't understand," he said slowly. "You're not mad?"
Debbie and Svetlana exchanged a look that spoke of years of friendship and understanding.
"Y/N," Debbie said softly, turning to face him. "Remember like... two days ago how I told you there were things about me you didn't know yet? Things I wanted to share but wasn't sure how?"
He nodded, still confused.
"Svetlana and I..." Debbie paused, choosing her words carefully. "We've always had a special connection. More than friendship, but different from what you and I have. When you told me about meeting someone amazing that night, I had no idea it was her, but now that I know..." She smiled. "It makes perfect sense."
"You both..." Y/N looked between them, understanding slowly dawning. "And you're okay with..."
"Life is not always simple thing," Svetlana said, her voice gentler now. "Sometimes heart wants what heart wants. Sometimes it wants more than one thing."
"We're not suggesting anything crazy," Debbie added quickly. "Just... maybe we could all spend time together. See what feels right. No pressure, no expectations. Just... connection."
Y/N sat back, taking it all in. He looked at Debbie, this amazing woman he'd fallen in love with, who knew him better than anyone. Then at Svetlana, who had sparked something in him that night that he couldn't deny. Both of them strong, both complex, both caring in their own unique ways.
"You're sure about this?" he asked Debbie.
She smiled, touching his face gently. "I've never been more sure of anything. You're my person, Y/N. That doesn't change. This just... adds something beautiful to what we already have."
