As requested by Hahahakla! Male Y/N.
The twin moons of Lothal cast a silvery glow over the grassy plains, illuminating two figures standing atop an ancient Jedi temple. Sabine Wren, her vibrant hair rustling in the night breeze, stood with her arms crossed, gazing at the stars above. Beside her, Y/N, a former Jedi, sat cross-legged, his eyes closed in meditation.
"You know," Sabine said, breaking the silence, "when I agreed to train with Ahsoka, I didn't think it would involve so much... sitting around."
Y/N opened one eye, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Patience, Sabine. The Force-"
"'-moves in mysterious ways,'" she finished, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I've heard that one before."
Y/N stood up, brushing off his robes. "You're improving, though. I can sense it."
Sabine turned to face him, her expression softening. "Thanks to you, I suppose."
Their eyes met, and for a moment, the galaxy seemed to hold its breath. Y/N felt a familiar flutter in his chest, one he'd been trying to ignore since Ahsoka had introduced them weeks ago.
"We should head back," Y/N said, clearing his throat. "Big day tomorrow."
Sabine nodded, but neither of them moved. The weight of their impending mission hung between them, unspoken but palpable.
As they made their way down the temple steps, Sabine's foot slipped on a loose stone. Y/N's hand shot out, catching her arm and pulling her close. For a heartbeat, they stood there, faces inches apart, before Sabine regained her footing.
"Thanks," she murmured, her cheeks flushed.
Y/N nodded, not trusting his voice. As they continued their descent, he couldn't help but wonder what might have happened if he hadn't let go.
The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, Sabine and Y/N stood before Ahsoka Tano. The former Jedi Knight's eyes were grave as she outlined their mission.
"We've received intelligence about a potential First Order sympathizer on Nevarro," Ahsoka explained. "Your job is to infiltrate their base and gather any information you can about their plans."
Sabine's eyes lit up at the prospect of action. "Finally, something other than meditation!"
Y/N shot her a warning glance, but Ahsoka merely smiled. "Your skills complement each other well. Sabine, your Mandalorian training and technical expertise will be crucial. Y/N, your connection to the Force and your undercover experience will guide you."
As they boarded their ship, the Frontier, Y/N couldn't shake a feeling of unease. He'd left the Jedi Order years ago, disillusioned by the rigidity of their ways. But now, embarking on this mission with Sabine, he felt a spark of something he hadn't experienced in a long time: hope.
The journey to Nevarro was uneventful, filled with strategy discussions and equipment checks. But as they dropped out of hyperspace, Sabine noticed Y/N's furrowed brow.
"Credit for your thoughts?" she asked, settling into the co-pilot's seat.
Y/N sighed. "I can't help but feel we're walking into something bigger than we realize."
Sabine reached out, hesitating for a moment before placing her hand on his arm. "Hey, whatever's waiting for us down there, we've got each other's backs, right?"
The warmth of her touch sent a jolt through Y/N. He turned to her, a soft smile on his face. "Always."
Their infiltration of the base started smoothly. Disguised as maintenance workers, they made their way through the corridors, Sabine deftly slicing into terminals while Y/N used the Force to sense any approaching danger.
