The rain poured heavily outside the small, dimly lit house. Inside, a six-year-old boy named Y/N sat alone on the cold, hardwood floor of his bedroom. The room was sparsely decorated, with only a bed, a small dresser, and a closet filled with clothes that were a bit too small for him. He clutched a tattered stuffed animal, his only source of comfort in a world that seemed to have forgotten him.
Y/N's parents were often away, leaving him to fend for himself. When they were home, they were distant, wrapped up in their own problems, neglecting the little boy who needed them the most. Y/N had learned to be quiet, to not make a fuss, to be invisible. It was easier that way. But the loneliness gnawed at him, a constant ache in his young heart.
One night, unable to bear the solitude any longer, Y/N found himself drawn to the small closet in his room. He had always been scared of the dark space, imagining monsters lurking within its depths. But tonight, something was different. He felt a strange pull, as if the closet was calling to him, beckoning him to step inside.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N pushed the closet door open. The darkness inside seemed to swallow the light from his room, but he didn't hesitate. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him. It was then that he noticed a faint glow coming from the back of the closet. Curiosity piqued, he reached out, his small fingers brushing against the wall. To his surprise, his hand passed right through it.
With wide eyes, Y/N pushed further, and before he knew it, he was tumbling through a portal, landing with a soft thud on the other side. He looked around in awe, realizing that he was no longer in his bedroom. The world around him was vibrant and strange, filled with bright colours and bizarre shapes. He had somehow entered the monster world.
Y/N wandered through the streets of Monstropolis, keeping to the shadows. He was small, and the bustling city was overwhelming, but he was determined not to be noticed. The monsters he saw were unlike anything he had ever imagined, some with multiple eyes, others with scales, fur, or tentacles. But they all seemed to be going about their daily lives, chatting with one another, laughing, and working.
Despite the strangeness of the place, Y/N felt a strange sense of comfort there. It was as if this world, despite being filled with monsters, was somehow kinder than the one he had left behind. He continued to explore, staying hidden and watching the monsters from a distance.
As the hours passed, Y/N grew tired. His small legs ached from walking, and his eyes grew heavy. He stumbled upon a large building with a sign that read "Monsters, Inc." Curious, he slipped inside, unnoticed by the monsters who were busy with their work. The building was massive, with doors of all shapes and sizes hanging from conveyor belts, leading to who knew where.
Y/N found a quiet corner to rest in, his eyelids drooping as he curled up on the floor. But before he could fall asleep, he heard a soft voice behind him.
"Well, what do we have here?"
Y/N's heart skipped a beat as he slowly turned around. Standing before him was a tall, slender monster with purple, snake-like hair and a single large eye that was watching him intently. She was unlike any of the other monsters he had seen, and despite her strange appearance, there was something warm and comforting about her.
"Are you lost, little one?" she asked, her voice gentle.
Y/N swallowed hard, feeling a lump form in his throat. He wanted to speak, to explain how he had ended up here, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, he just nodded, his eyes filling with tears.
The monster's expression softened, and she knelt down beside him. "It's okay," she said softly. "You don't have to be afraid. My name is Celia. What's yours?"
