Quincy was invited to join the team practice, and of course, Taylor and Kelly managed to get her to agree and join the team, even dragging Austin along.
The day before Taylor's birthday, they spent it with Quincy's old team. Quincy and Austin were doing drills and passes with the team while Taylor, Kelly, and Bailey watched, chatting animatedly with each other.
Brick was having fun recalling how Kelly used to cheer at the matches with Bellamy. Austin, for a second, worried Quincy might get upset at the mention of her deceased sister, but the collective laughter of admiration seemed to quell the tears.
During a break while the team was getting water at the bleachers where Kelly, Taylor, and Bailey sat, Lewis pointed out how Kévin would always congratulate Quincy.
Brick wrapped an arm around Quincy like Kévin did, congratulating her. Quincy laughed as the wave of nostalgia hit her. She nudged Brick, telling him his French was terrible, and he laughed but teased, saying she couldn't do much better.
Quincy cleared her throat and thought of the man who was like a father to her. She stood upright like he did, bent her knee to mimic Kévin's old injury that left him with a limp, then spoke in French, making the team cheer.
"Quincy, you played well!" Quincy began, her voice dropping into a thick French accent. "You carried the team like a real captain!"
Taylor, Kelly, and Bailey stopped their conversation to observe the commotion. Kelly burst into laughter, realising Quincy was impersonating her father.
Jumping up, Kelly joined in with a terrible impersonation of Quincy. "Kévin, we played as a team!" she said, slouching dramatically.
Bailey laughed, nudging Taylor. "She's imitating my grandpapa Kévin."
Taylor looked at Quincy, amused as she waved her best friend off.
Quincy insisted Kelly walk more upright. "Non, non, non!" The brunette shook her head, slipping out of character. "Kells, I did not walk like that," she said, pointing at her best friend with a frown.
Kelly put her hands on her hips. "Uh, yeah, you did. You looked like a gorilla with a hunched back."
Taylor covered her mouth, trying to muffle her laughter at Quincy's undignified scoff. The team, however, laughed out loud, pleased with the trip down memory lane. Bailey didn't hide her laughter ever amused by her guardians banter.
Quincy scoffed, voicing her disagreement but relented and focused to shift back into her impersonation of Kévin. "Ah, but you, Quincy, you were magnifique! You carry the team on your shoulders."
Kelly, still in character, replied, "Kévin, you are just being biased."
Quincy mimicked Kévin's raspy old man laugh before shrugging and mumbling, "Touché."
Kelly took a dramatic bow like it was the end of a show, making the men laugh and clap, clearly amused by the familiar banter and teasing.
Bailey smiled, clapping her hands. "Grandpapa would love this!" She then pointed at her godmother. "You should do more impressions."
Taylor nodded, her eyes twinkling. "Agreed. The French accent was impressive." She wouldn't admit out loud that Quincy with a French accent was really attractive.
Austin piped up, "Quin apparently lacks nothing in the talent department."
Quincy blushed, shaking her head. "I don't know about that. It's just for fun."
Kelly grinned, nudging Quincy. "Don't be modest."
"You could've been an actress if you wanted," Austin added, teasing his friend.
