As Taylor lay awake that evening, her thoughts kept drifting back to Quincy. She tried to distract herself by scrolling through social media, but it wasn’t long before she found herself in the middle of Quincy-related tweets.
Her fans had taken quite the liking to her bodyguard, and Taylor couldn’t help but be amused by how often they mentioned Quincy's attractiveness. But what really warmed her heart was seeing how they appreciated Quincy's kindness just as much.
She continued scrolling, smiling at the way fans gushed about the tall brunette, admiring her strength, her stoic demeanour, and even her rare, subtle smiles. It was clear that Quincy had made an impression, not just as Taylor's protector, but as someone who exuded a quiet, captivating presence.
After a while, Taylor came across a thread dedicated to Quincy's muscular arms, and her heart skipped a beat. The thread was filled with photos of Quincy from various events, most of them taken at award shows where Quincy had rolled up her sleeves. The definition of her muscles, the veins subtly visible under her skin, and the effortless strength she seemed to radiate had clearly caught the attention of many.
Taylor found herself lingering on the photos, her gaze tracing the lines of Quincy's arms. She noticed that in many of the pictures, she was right there beside Quincy, holding onto her arm. It stirred something inside of her—a mix of pride and something deeper, something she wasn't quite ready to fully acknowledge.
There was one picture in particular that made her heart flutter. It was taken at a recent award show, where Quincy had been looking down at her with that familiar, protective gaze. Taylor was holding onto Quincy's arm, and the way her fans had captured the moment, it almost seemed intimate. The memory of that night came rushing back—how safe she had felt with Quincy by her side, how she had leaned into her warmth.
Without realising it, Taylor's smile grew. She couldn't deny that there was something about Quincy that drew her in, something that went beyond the professional relationship they shared. The thought of being the only one who got to hold Quincy's arm, to be the focus of that intense, unwavering attention, made her chest tighten with a confusing mix of emotions.
She closed the app, trying to shake off the thoughts, but they lingered, filling her mind with images of Quincy—strong, steadfast, and always there when she needed her. As Taylor lay in the quiet of her room, she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to explore whatever it was she felt for Quincy, to see if there was more to it than just admiration or gratitude.
But for now, all she could do was try to push the thoughts away, even though she knew it was futile. Quincy had somehow made her way into her heart, and there was no ignoring it anymore.
Taylor's thoughts were cut short when her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. Seeing it was her brother, Austin, she quickly answered.
"Hey, Austin, what's up?"
"Hey, Taffy! Just wanted to run something by you," Austin's voice was warm but direct, as usual. "Do you think we could invite Quin and the Kingstons over for Christmas this year?"
Taylor hesitated, her mind instantly conjuring up the image of spending Christmas with Quincy. The idea of being around the woman who had been occupying her thoughts more and more lately made her heart race a little.
"Sure, I mean... I think it would be great. I'll ask Quincy and see if she's interested," Taylor replied, trying to sound casual despite the flutter in her chest.
"Awesome. What about Kelly and Bailey? Should I call them, or do you think Quin should?"
Taylor thought about it for a moment. "I think Kelly would appreciate it if you called her directly. She'd like that personal touch."
