i'll meet by midnight

Authors Note# Here's another chapter, and this one will have both siblings meet a family friend. I think some of you know who it is, and for those who don't, be in for a surprise.

Damien for once guides the skiff to where Avalon is taking us. After meeting pops, Ashton, and Zachary in Arizona, we bid our goodbyes and we left.

Athena lays her head in my lap as I brushed her hair back. "Where do you suppose we are now?" Damien asks as he holds the oar.

I look around the mist, and saw nothing. "I don't really know. The mist is thicker than normal."

As we sail through the mist that starts to clear up, and Bronx starts barking. "What's wrong, boy?" I ask him. I look through the mist, and I see a very familiar island as well as the familiar bond fire atop of the cliff. "Ah! Come on!" I say leaning my head against the skiff.

The skiff makes it to shore, and Athena starts waking up. She looks around at the island with wide eyes of wonder. We get out of the skiff and walked on the sandy beach. "You know, I'm starting to think this Manhattan place is just a myth." Damien says, I send a harsh glare in his direction. He looks over at me, and stiffens up. "Sorry." He says.

"At least we have safe haven for a time." Goliath says as he drags the skiff further on the sandy beach.

"For how long though?" I muttered to myself. I feel a small hand in mine, and I see Athena looking up at me. I smile at her, and squeezed her hand a bit. Bronx starts barking, and takes off in some direction. We were met with familiar faces. "Here comes the welcoming committee." I say, Athena starts moving behind me, and I knelt down to her height. "It's alright honeypie. Their good guys." I say reassuring her.

"Like you?" she asks, I realize what she meant, like myself and her.

I tilt my head and held her hand. "Sort of, they are normal, like Damien." I point to him. "They are very good people, you can trust them." I say to her. She faces the ground and looks back up at me nodding her head. Athena holds up her arms and I smile at her, I wrap my arms around her small body lifting her up, and she clings onto me like a koala bear.
