Heidi's POV

It's been three months, and I'm finally healed. Today, I get to go home, to see life outside of the hospital walls. The thought fills me with a mix of excitement and dread. My thoughts and self-awareness still loom over me, a constant reminder of the pain and self-harm I inflicted upon myself during those dark days.

As I was discharged, my best friend Layla and her boyfriend were there to drive me home. I felt safe with them, their presence a comforting balm to my still-fragile state. They talked to me, making me laugh, and for a moment, I could almost forget the weight of my own thoughts.

"Maybe when you're actually all healed up, we can all go out," Layla said, smirking back at me from the front seat. "I heard Hazel and you have a thing or something."

I rolled my eyes, stepping out of the car and grabbing my bag. "She wishes she could have something like this," I said, laughing. Layla's boyfriend chuckled, and I waved goodbye to my friends as they drove away.

Layla's POV

I watched Heidi as she stepped out of the car, her movements still a bit weak but filled with determination. It had been a long road to recovery, and seeing her finally able to go home was a relief. "Take care, Heidi," I called out, my voice filled with genuine concern. "We'll catch up soon."

Heidi's POV

I stood outside my house, taking a deep breath of fresh air. It felt surreal to be back, to see the world beyond the hospital. The memories of those dark days still haunted me, but I was determined to move forward. I walked inside, the familiar surroundings bringing a sense of comfort.

As I settled in, I couldn't help but think about Isabella. She had been my rock during my recovery, her presence a constant source of strength. I knew I had to reach out to her, to let her know I was finally home.

Isabella's POV

I was at home when I received a message from Heidi. My heart skipped a beat as I read her words, relief washing over me. "I'm finally home," she had written. "Thank you for everything, Isabella. I couldn't have done it without you."

I felt a surge of emotion, tears filling my eyes. I quickly replied, my fingers trembling. "I'm so glad you're home, Heidi. I've missed you so much. Can I come over later?"

Heidi's POV

I smiled as I read Isabella's message, my heart warming at her words. "Of course," I replied. "I'd love to see you."

I spent the next few hours resting, my body still weak from the long recovery. But the thought of seeing Isabella again filled me with a sense of hope. She had been my anchor, and I couldn't wait to be with her again.

Layla's POV

As Layla and her boyfriend drove away, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for Heidi. "She's come so far," she said, her voice filled with admiration. "I just hope she knows how much we all care about her."

Isabella's POV

I arrived at Heidi's house later that evening, my heart pounding with anticipation. As I knocked on the door, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. When Heidi opened the door, her smile was the most beautiful thing I had seen in months.

"Heidi," I said, my voice trembling with emotion. "You're really home."

Heidi's POV

I pulled Isabella into a tight hug, the warmth of her embrace filling me with a sense of peace. "I'm home," I whispered, my voice filled with gratitude. "And I'm so glad you're here."
