Author's note: All right so I know I got several comments in the previous chapter regarding Legilimency which I actually do go into in this chapter; Rowling gave us SO many plot holes that I really hope my explanation regarding this makes sense.
Also CW for very negative things being said regarding mental health

Spinnet was not happy. Remus didn't expect him to be, however also didn't know how he'd react. The two of them were sat down in and listened to a slight lecture on not destroying school property, or property belonging to someone else. Remus ended up with a couple of nights of detention, and Spinnet was angry.
"That's it? Professor!" Spinnet gripped the arms of the chair he was in. "You should have seen how wrecked the room was! I was like a dragon was let loose in there!"
Dumbledore waved his hand. "From what Minerva has told me, nothing personal was ruined. That what was destroyed can be fixed or replaced without any issue."
"That isn't the point."
"Morrander." Dumbledore looked over the rims of his glasses at him. "Accidents happen."
"Accide—?" Spinnet laughed. "No. No, no, no, no. He's insane."
"Morrander—"
"He shouldn't be allowed in the school. He isn't safe!"
Remus flinched at those words, turning his head away, the words stinging.
"Morrander," Dumbledore said again, this time with more authority and Spinnet fell silent. "Accidents happen. Remus lost his temper and had a bit of a... magical outburst."
Spinnet scoffed. "Magical? It looked like he tore into things like a wild animal!"
"Nothing looked like that," Remus said quickly, red flushing across his cheeks.
Spinnet folded his arms, shrugging. "The damage was not normal."
Dumbledore merely shrugged. "There are many spells that can look like what happened."
"So. We're supposed to—what?" Spinnet sat back, arms folded, chin jutting out. "Sit and wait for him to lose his temper again and his accidental magic slam into us?"
"How many times has this happened since you started in your first year?" Dumbledore asked, and Spinnet was, again, silent. "Remus has been under a lot of stress with the exams." Remus squirmed, feeling awkward he was being talked about as if he wasn't there; also feeling awkward that Dumbledore was reasoning out an outburst from Remus. "That coupled with Gryffindor losing the Quidditch cup and what happened to Peter Pettigrew the other night, and a fight between his friends and some other students this morning... it was, shall we say, the right ingredients for a disastrous potion."
Spinnet's brow furrowed deep and his lips twisted around as he tried to figure out a response. Which turned out to be a rather pathetic, "He doesn't care about Quidditch."
Dumbledore's eyebrows lifted high, and he gave a slight smile. "Whether he does or not, he cares about James Potter who does care about the Quidditch cup I believe. Now. I understand you are not happy, however these things happen, Morrander. This is exactly why Hogwarts was founded in the first place. So... eruptions of accidental magic made by angry or sad or upset witches and wizards happens less often. But they still happen."
Remus pressed a hand to his stomach, forcing the guilt over the lies back down. He wondered if Dumbledore would be as benign about things if it were Sirius in the chair. He knew the headmaster wouldn't be unfair however there was a big difference between quiet Remus and explosive Sirius, and how they'd be treated over this.
