(Season 2) Chapter 1: An Awkward Acquaintance

Daniel wakes up on September 1st, the start of the school year, due to his excellent grades - mostly achieved with the aid of his girlfriend, Yune - his excellent behavior, and overall attitude towards others, he was set up on the highest section for his grade - Section 9-A. Yune would be there with him, if it weren't for an incident last year that lowered her behavior score severely. This incident lowered her to section 9-F, Lukas and Rosalina were in section 9-H and Xavier was in section 9-C.

As Daniel walks into the room, he sees someone and immediately exits the classroom at the sight of her.

"Her?!" Daniel thought to himself, "What is she doing here?!"

In his old school, Daniel was friends with a girl who liked him, this girl's name was Grace. She liked Daniel and when she had confessed, Daniel rejected her. This angered her beyond reason. She was an annoyance the rest of their one year together, since she couldn't handle rejection. With this past relationship in mind, Daniel was extremely worried about how things would go for him.

"Nevermind," Azazel thought to himself again. "Maybe she's gotten over it..."

Daniel simply walked back inside and sat down at a desk positioned far from Grace, keeping to himself waiting for the teacher to walk in. As he simply sits there, looking at his phone and minding his own business, Grace walks up to him. Daniel pretends he doesn't notice her but Grace doesn't bother with it, striking a conversation with Daniel.

"Hey! It's been a while!" Grace greeted with a cheerful smile.

"Ah! It has..." Daniel said, trying his best not to be uncomfortable. "Say, why'd you transfer here?" 

"I have a few cousins who go here." Grace replied, seemingly honestly but there was no way to be sure of  that.

"Really? What sections are they in?" Daniel inquired.

"I have 2 cousins who go here," Grace replied, "one is in 10-O and the other is in 8-D" She answered before she popped a smirk and sat down next to him, propping her head on her hand and her elbow on his desk.

"Say... has anything interesting happened in your life since you were here?"

Daniel was a bit panicked at the question, but quickly pushed it down, and put on a nonchalant smile. "Not all that much. I made a bunch of new friends but that's just about as far as it goes."

Daniel didn't have the guts to tell Grace that he was in a relationship with someone that wasn't her, consequences could be dire otherwise. Fortunately, Grace failed to catch the fact that he was lying and continued the conversation as normal.

"Cool! Say... are you in a... special relationship?" Grace asked, seemingly with innocent curiosity, but Daniel wasn't so naïve as to believe that.

"Ah... No, no not really." Daniel lied as he spoke.

As they continue talking. The teacher arrives and Grace goes back to her desk, the teacher introduces herself and instructs everyone to introduce themselves in desk number order.

Everyone goes around introducing themselves, some people were nervous, others were excited, some people were just plain neutral. Eventually, Daniel's turn is finally here and he introduces himself in the same manner he had last year.

"Hi everyone, my name is Daniel and I'm 13 years old and my hobbies are watching and playing soccer. I hope to know and bond with all of you in this new school year!"

Grace has her turn a few people after Daniel.

"Hi everyone! My name is Grace and I'm 13 years old, my hobbies are stargazing, art, dancing, and singing. I hope to know everyone as we stay together throughout the school year!"

Everyone had finally introduced themselves and the teacher encouraged everyone to play a game. You must draw a card with a question and answer the question. Daniel knew he might have to cough up the truth if his luck turned out bad. There were a few people from his old class in his new one, so if he was given a question regarding a relationship, he might be exposed.

Daniel was chosen to go first to answer a question, and he read the card and had a disappointed look on his face. The card read; "Are you in a relationship? If so, who is it with and why do you like them?"

Daniel read the question out loud and an old classmate was unaware that he was trying to hide the truth. Daniel speaks an untruthful statement, but is immediately caught by his old classmate from his class, so, forced into a corner, he tells the tale of what had happened quickly.

Grace listens in absolute disbelief that Daniel is in a relationship, and it was the best one in the school last year at that. Grace glares at Daniel who simply looks away, eventually, they manage to get to recess and Daniel quickly leaves the room, trying to avoid talking to Grace for now. Unfortunately for Daniel, Grace finds him and grabs his wrist, questioning shakily.

"Why'd you lie to me?" Grace said, her face distraught yet slightly angry.

"Uh... It's just-" Daniel tried to reason.

"No... no... listen here," Grace cut off Daniel. "Who's this "Yune" person?"

"Well... she's-" Daniel tried to find some reason to cover it up.

Grace squeezes Daniel's arm tightly, so tightly her knuckles turn white. Daniel hears the crackling bones of his wrist and knows he has to answer honestly unless he wants to leave the situation missing a hand.

"Okay Okay! I'll tell you! Just let me go!" Daniel pleaded desperately.

Grace lets go and Daniel explains what happened in great detail.

"You confessed to HER?" Grace yelled madly. "You chose to love a random girl over me?!"

"You are a good friend, I won't deny that," Daniel reasoned. "But it's just..."

"Just what?! I'm ugly?! Chubby?! Weird?!"

"You're overly irrational!" Daniel blurted out panickily. "You cut people off, thinking you know what they're gonna say and it can ruin relationships because you jump to conclusions without hearing them out!"

While Grace is arguing with Daniel who's trying to calm her down, Yune and Rosalina run down the hall once they hear the screaming of 2 people, as Yune sees Daniel trying to comfort Grace. She simply breaks up the two and asks what is happening. Grace looks behind her to see who is trying to stop her, she sees Yune and based off an appearance description given from Daniel, Grace yells, asking if she was Yune. Before Daniel could try to lie to hopefully get everyone out of this situation, Yune states that she is. Grace grabs Yune by her collar, mad that she "took" Daniel from her. She yells in her anger.

"Who do you think you are? Stealing MY MAN?" Grace yelled angrily.

Yune was so confused like Grace was speaking an Alien language. "Your man? We've been dating for like, 7 months now."

"Back off my man, he is mine." Grace declared possessively still with the undertone of anger and a hint of a threat.

"What?" Yune said now slightly angrily. "I'm sorry, what?!"

Grace walks away angered while Rosalina, Yune watch in confusion and Daniel watches concerned.

"Who is she?"

"Old friend of mine, she's kind of like Xavier back then."

"What did she mean by 'My man'?"

"She confessed to me back then, I rejected her and I don't think she took that too well. She is easily in denial right now."

Daniel goes throughout the day being constantly being annoyed and stalked by Grace, through recess, lunch, and even going home. On their way home, Daniel realizes this and asks her why she is following him and Yune, she simply says that she moved into a new house that way.

Daniel was suspicious of her, but he didn't have sufficient evidence to rightfully accuse her. So he chose not to mind her, talking with Yune as they walked home while Grace watches them and eventually figures out where each of them lived.

Now armed with this potentially dangerous info, Grace wanted nothing more than Yune to be out of Daniel's life to return things to "how they were meant to be."
