Chapter 3: Happy Birthday, Daniel! The Confession.

Today was October 12, 39 Days after school had started, and Daniel's birthday, Yune was aware of this and had bought a present for Daniel, a whole soccer uniform of his favorite soccer player, the world's best striker - Koyama Ryuu. He is the kind of player Daniel wants to be in the future and he takes a lot of his techniques from how he plays, but not only was that in there, there was another item, something more... significant.

As Yune gets ready to go to school her mom goes up to Yune, asking if she's really sure if she wants to do this, worried about Daniel and how he would treat Yune, but Yune insists that she wants to.

"Daniel isn't like the others, he truly is kind, and earnest, he isn't like Keith." She says this before cheerfully walking out the door, paper bag in hand. She meets with Daniel again in the stairwell and hold hands as they walk to school like any normal day.

Daniel, after a few minutes of walking realizes that Yune was holding a paper bag, asking what was in the paper bag that Yune was holding. Yune, wanting the gift to be a surprise, says that it was a secret she couldn't share. Daniel understood, and didn't pry further. Daniel doesn't pay any attention to the bag until they get to school and she leaves it beside her backpack in the back of the room.

The day goes on normally, but during Lunch, Daniel goes to the front of the room and gathers everyone's attention. He announces that he would like to celebrate his birthday with them.

A delivery service brought in food from a famous fast-food service and everyone was cheering for him and thanking him, also congratulating Daniel on turning 14 years old. Before everyone ate, Yune stopped everyone, getting their attention. She then went to her desk and grabbed the paper bag that was sitting on the floor next to it. Everyone was confused at what Yune was doing, including Daniel. She then proceeded to walk up to the front of the room and hand Daniel the bag, which was a birthday present.

"Daniel, happy birthday, this is a present from me." Yune announces, a happy, cheerful, radiant smile on her face.

"Thank you for the present, I didn't think you'd know!" Daniel replied, ecstatic and moved that someone thought to get him a gift. As Daniel looks through the bag, he sees the contents and gets extremely excited at it's contents.

"Oh my God! Where did you find this? I've been looking for a replica of his uniform for years!"

"I found it in a Garage sale. Unsurprisingly, it was damaged, but I was able to fix it with my mom's help."

As Daniel looks through the bag more, he sees the special item, which turns out to be a beautiful card. He read the contents out loud, the card read: "Happy Birthday Daniel, the contents of this bag are not only gifts, but also my thank you for all that you've done for me! You're a really good person and I hope we can continue to have a good relationship. Sincerely, Yune Ashley"

As he finishes reading that part of the card, he looks at the other side of the card.

"Hm? What's this? Look at me?"

As Daniel does this, Yune had her arms wide open and gave Daniel a warm, comforting, and firm hug, and as she does this, she whispers in his ear.

"Daniel... sorry to say this so suddenly, especially in front of everyone... but I want to confess this... I like you... I've liked you ever since our first day of school... do you feel the same?"

Daniel, in a moment of surprise, but also happiness, and bliss, didn't bother trying to hide it, despite having to say it in front of the class.

"Yes... of course I feel the same... Yune... thank you for confessing... I understand it might've been difficult."

As this confession happened, it felt like slow-motion to the two people involved. But everyone was so happy at that moment. Everyone started to eat, but Daniel could barely focus, extremely joyful at what happened. As they went home, they were more joyous than ever, they seemed to have become better friends than anyone else in the Junior High School.

Throughout the rest of the day, the boys continuously bugged Daniel about Yune liking him. A few of them were jealous about Yune liking him, Daniel, unsure of what to say, just remains silent.

The girls were bugging Yune about having a crush, saying that it must be fate, like a knight coming to save a princess. Yune just keeps accepting it, she knew this would probably happen so she has no regrets.

They walked home together, their friendship now even stronger thanks to this confession. As they arrived at their respective apartments, Yune ran into her sister and she asked why she seemed so happy, asking if anything happened with her "boyfriend". However, Yune, clearly not ashamed or embarrassed of anything, replied that she managed to confess, not even hesitating despite the sensitivity of the topic.

Yune's mom overheard their conversation and rushed in, asking Yune to tell her everything. She wants to make sure that Daniel is a good person before Yune tries anything more ambitious.

While Yune was explaining, in a different neighborhood, far away from where Daniel and Yune live, Xavier plots something against Daniel, envious, mad, even furious that Yune liked Daniel and not him.

"He thinks he's so great... I'll show him, I'll show EVERYONE!"
