Oh boy! I wonder what video games that will be released this month!

Hmm, what's this? Concord and Dustborn?

what's make me thinking about writing a blog about these game and why did you put DOA in my blog title?

You heard me right.

If you living under the rock or not terminally online enough, you already heard two of this title, no. It has nothing to do with Dead or Alive franchise, not that DOA, i'm talking about how the product already dead on arrival.

Why so pessimistic? No, it's an objective truth, let me explain.

Concord is a multiplayer 5v5 hero shooters like Overwatch for Plasyation and PC, developed by Firewalk Studio, it's their debut game. The reveal trailer for this game dropped 31 May 2024. The trailer featuring less than 5 minutes cinematic of the game (Not gameplay),  and people already disliked it for a reason.

The dialogue itself already sounds like a modern Marvel, trying to be quirky and quippy and not in the good way, people are so tired with this type of comedy and dialogue, and of course. They bring Marvel name because how they popularize this type of things.

It's also a rip-off version of Guardian of the Galaxy.

And i should mention the elephant in the room, the character design, so frickin horrendous, uninspiring, boring and it's a huge turn off for the players. And why character design do matter?

Remember that this game is a hero shooter, what's the most popular hero shooter right now? Overwatch, (i'm just gonna called it Overwatch without 2 since this isn't a sequel at all) Why it's so popular? The character design, even the consumer of this game doesn't play the game they enjoy the character design for a reason, i hope you know what i mean

It doesn't have to be like Overwatch to make your games got popular, but at least make it decently attractive, none of the character in Concord attractive at all, it's so ugly af.

Two of the character that strike me most is Emari and Daw, both looks like a inflation and vore oc simultaneously and that's not a compliment, they're looks like will eat their own teammates instead doing actual stuff.

I want to comment more of Concord character design and roast it, but i have to shift the discussion to Dustborn.

Dustborn is a singleplayer RPG developed by Red Thread Games, at first. I thought Quantic Dream was the one who develop the game, yes. That Quantic Dream who made Detroit; Become Human.

The trailer revealed a years ago, and it said from the trailer the game released around February 2024. But for some reason, it got delayed for few months and planned to released this month.

People already dislike the game because of the political tone of the game, look. You can make a very political game but make it subtle and not too under the nose, they even have those music minigame like in Goodbye Volcano High, i don't understand the obsession of music minigame that solely serve zero purpose to the game nor to the story.

The game took place in an alternate timeline of Republic America, idk what's the name of the MC is and i'm not bother to search for it. and her gang venturing through the country, lot of stuff will happen along the way.

From the trailer and even character design itself, you can already tell how awful it would be, it's looks like the story and character design itself stolen from someone's cope section in Tumblr, but i guess Tumblr user or even Twitter user won't buy this game either, it would be but it's a minorities.

Like Concord, the character design is also boring and uninspiring, none of them are that attractive either, not to mention how political this game was, and it's not gonna work or even memorable in the future, well duh. It's for modern audience, not the future one. Which mean it's not gonna be popular in the future either because how terrible it is in the first place.

Want to heard funny fact about it? These two games doesn't have any entry in R34 (If you a minor, please don't search R34,t this is for your own good) Yes, you heard me right, not even single entry, it's so bad that those kind of artist not bother to touch it at all.

I guess this game deserve an award of the game that defeated R34.

Like i said, both of this game already dead on arrival, not just from the character design but overall tone to the games, no one asked another hero shooter slop or even games that inspired by 2016 or further political climate, and i'm so sure not even people that these studio trying to cater to will buy the games, they know how suck it is, and everyone on the internet are clowning on both games, and rightfully so.

The open beta for Concord only reach around 2000+ players, it's not good number for an online games, Dustborn demo isn't any better, only peak around less than 50 players.

Game studio nowadays, even the small one. Seems doesn't understand what gamers want, they thought we gonna buy this slop for a huge amount of money, but since there's lot of video criticizing both games, gamers now more informed to vote with their wallet. 

Some people wish the best for these games, but majority wish the failure to send clear message to the game studio that we do not want this piece of crap.

I would rather play Overwatch and Disco Elysium than Concord even Dustborn, i never played Overwatch nor Disco Elyisum, but that something i would play.
