Still Can't Make Friends on Internet

Now i'm on 7th semester of my college, this time i only has one subject to attend beside thinking about my thesis and of course, i'm still waiting for the statement letter from the college but no news yet.

Whatever, i still could use my time to write and draw, and maybe do something more productive and useful.

Today, i want to talk about me still can't make friends on internet.

Dude, how? It's 2023, at least have some friends online, especially if you don't have much in real life.

I know what you mean.

Even though i'm an introvert, i'm barely made any friends during my time on internet, and only one or two were good to me.

How about the rest? Gone, don't care or even ghosted me.

Let me tell you why, beside my lack of social skill

In this day and age, i have feeling on my gut to not directly trust stranger online, especially in discord and twitter. (Or X), I know it's a universal statement that everyone shouldn't trust stranger online, but those feeling only slowing me down to connect to other people, eventually, i stuck on the stagnant circumstance where my stuff doesn't get any attraction.

I also don't expecting much of people who follow me and giving me a good advice or feedback for my stuff, i can't consider them as a friend, they're just people who enjoying my stuff and wanted to make it better, which is something i don't have for now.

Sometimes, too close with your fan will causing more problem. You can see lot of scandal around internet celebrities in a span of five years or so.

This is internet and we're pretty anonymous when it comes to certain life aspect, so i have no idea how they think, unless they're very clear about it on any social media.

Another reason is, if i befriended with stranger online,i could get a chance to meet an asshole that berating my work and saying shit on me, they would saying shit behind your back or even worse, calling you certain word because of different opinion then decided to make thread about how people like you will cause other harm and deserve to be cancelled.

Not only that, today's internet also infested by groomer, i always heard they're reside on discord, preying gullible children into asking them for something alarming just for amusement.

I rarely using discord, only using it for chat with my friend i meet in Instagram, i also even didn't read into the server i entered, basically. I'm just a common man, a passerby if you will. In a virtual server.

I'm sure any other introvert doesn't have this issue, especially when having a self-doubt to interact with stranger online but still cautious.
