CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: ARRANGEMENTS 1.

"Pathetic." Kanae said as if looking down on lowly worms.

"W-What sort of behaviour is this" the medical director stuttered.

"I am only protecting my boss. He was about to be defiled with filthy hands, and I simply stopped that from happening. Are you trying to run from the deal?" Kanae asked as she exuded a cold aura. The director fell from his chair at that moment but was helped up by his guards.

The medical director was about to speak again when a guard came back from the camera room and was about to whisper something in the director's ears but was cut off by Kanae.

"Why don't you share with all of us your discovery from the security footage? In fact, why not play the video right now in front of everybody, I am sure they want to confirm their winnings!" Kanae said out loud to garner attention and a protest. Some patrons who bet on the 'Black Devil' started shouting and requesting for the video. There was nothing the guard could do at that point and simply went to get the footage and played it on a TV where everyone could see.

Everyone watched and couldn't notice anything different but the dealer watched closely and spotted something.

"I knew it! The bloke switched cards! Guards search him now" The dealer screamed while pointing at 'Black Devil'. Mairo waved Kanae off as if to let them search him. The guards stood him up from his seat and searched him rigorously. Every nook and cranny was searched as he was violated in front of everyone. The search infuriated Kanae to no end even if she wasn't the one being searched but she decided to use this moment to train control of her emotions. The emotions of ghouls are heightened compared to that of humans, that's why one of the tactics the CCG investigator uses is baiting or getting a rise out of their target to create a slip which is only effective after their target has been properly investigated.

The guards found nothing and left the young man alone.

"I have to say, this annoyed me. And now, I won't only take the papers and rights to your hospital for good but your life as well if I don't receive the papers with your lawyers in the next hour." Mairo said as he sat down.

"Your time is ticking. I hope this establishment will hold to him according to their sacred traditions and rules!" Kanae added as she received her drink from a waitress who had been passing drinks around by the order of one of the patrons earlier.

".... I declare 'Black Devil' the winner of this bet." The dealer proclaimed with his head down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What was it you said?" Mairo asked his hand over his ear.

" 'Black Devil' is the WINNER of this bout!" The dealer exclaimed to the terror of more than half of the patrons who had bet sacred money on the director. The others who bet on 'Black Devil' suddenly became millionaires overnight and not in yen but dollars.

Angry gazes were on the director as he left with some of the underground officials following him to make sure he fulfilled his end of the deal. An hour passed and two lawyers escorted the director to the den with papers. They held the exchange in a V.I.P. room, Mairo also brought his lawyers as they read through and finalized the deal. The deal was authentic and the handover was complete. 'Black Devil' officially owned the director's hospital and its subsidiaries.
