The hotel room was dimly lit, the only source of light being the warm glow casted by the small bedside lamp between the beds. The hum of the city outside was distant, muted by the heavy drapes, leaving only the gentle buzz of the air conditioning to fill the silence. In the middle of the king-sized bed, Chris and Samira sat upright, the blankets pooling around their hips. The covers were pulled up just enough to shield the intimacy of their bare bodies, though the tension between them was far from hidden.
The plush comforter was pulled up to Chris's lap and draped just over the swell of Samira's breasts, offering them a modesty they both would easily forgo if it weren't for the teasing energy that filled the room. The calm that radiated off of them was palpable, a stark contrast to the heated exchanges they'd had just days before. Now, in the aftermath of their reconciliation, there was a sense of peace—a fragile, yet cherished moment of understanding between them.
Samira's hand absentmindedly moved to Chris's head, her fingers sliding through the soft, slightly overgrown curls at the top. She bit the inside of her cheek, her brows knitting together as she examined his hair. The once-vibrant green hue had faded to a dull, almost sickly shade, making his curls look more like a neglected garden than the bold statement it had once been.
Chris noticed her expression, his lips curving into a smirk as he raised an eyebrow in confusion. His hands rested on her waist beneath the heavy blankets, his thumbs drawing gentle circles against her skin. "What you lookin' at me like that for?" He asked, a playful edge to his voice.
Samira hummed, tilting her head slightly as she continued to run her fingers through his unruly curls. "I love you a lot—but I simply cannot be seen publicly with this hairdo you got goin' on." She declared, her tone full of mock seriousness.
