Ever since Samira received the news that she'd been nominated for multiple Grammy's, she had been prepping like crazy. From trying on costumes that fit her stomach—which will be way bigger by the time the performance rolls around—to learning choreography that definitely wasn't meant for pregnant women. She had been pushing herself pretty hard. And as much as she was anticipating the night of the award's show, she couldn't wait to get it over with.

She planned on performing two of her popular singles, and then include a performance with Chris as well. The executives of the production had sat her down and they looked over her set, ultimately coming to the decision to approve it.

That was all the confirmation Samira needed, immediately booking dance studios for her, the dancers that joined her on tour, and Chris, to all rehearse for their performance. She wouldn't lie, it was hard. She'd never danced before her tour, and she got everything down pretty quick. But dancing—and even singing—while pregnant was a whole other story within itself. She had to take a lot of breaks during rehearsals, drank more water than the others, and had to dance without shoes because her feet were constantly hurting.

Luckily, she had built an amazing team to perform with her, and they were all extremely understanding with every rehearsal. The big day was quickly approaching, and Samira woke up to a phone call from the Recording Academy this morning—not giving her many details, just telling her that they needed to discuss a few things before the award show.

Chris, of course, had stayed the night again, and told Samira he would drive her there. So, they got themselves and Sadiah dressed for the day before they left the house. Samira wore an oversized t-shirt, a pair of mom jeans, and crisp white sneakers—trying her hardest to not make it too obvious what she was attempting to hide beneath the outfit.
