The warm glow of the dimmed lights in Samira's apartment cast a soft, golden hue over the room, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The remnants of the evening were scattered across the coffee table—empty wine glasses, half-eaten plates of food, and a few crayons that had escaped Sadiah's grasp as he colored. The chatter among her friends had taken on that familiar, comfortable hum as the night grew later, everyone more relaxed now after hours of laughter and playful debates.

The apartment itself was spacious, but Samira had always been drawn to the small, personal touches that made it feel like home. From the carefully curated art on the walls—pieces she'd collected throughout her travels—to the soft throw blankets draped over the couches, every inch of the space reflected her personality. It was the perfect place to wind down after the chaos of touring, and being surrounded by the people she loved made it feel even more like a sanctuary.

On the floor, Sadiah lay sprawled out on his stomach, deeply focused on coloring in his superhero book, while Nique and Xavier sat beside him, occasionally chiming in with color suggestions or teasing comments. Malik and Omari had their legs stretched out across the floor, and Cleo leaned back in her chair, swirling the last bit of wine in her glass.

Chris, sitting comfortably on the couch with Samira's legs draped over his lap, was the epitome of relaxation. His head rested against the back of the couch, eyes half-lidded, yet still actively engaged in the conversation happening around him. Every so often, his fingers absentmindedly trailed along her calf, sending small, pleasant shivers up her spine.

Malik leaned forward, eyebrows raised in disbelief as he responded to Omari's last statement. "I'm just sayin'." He started, hands clasped together on the table. "If aliens do exist, why haven't they contacted us yet? You'd think by now they'd be curious about us too, right?"
