Tonight, we're having a family dinner at Charlie's parents' house. Charlie's parents are Y/n and Adrien Agreste, and they can't wait to meet their new grandchildren. Charlie's twin sister, Cecily, just got married to her fiancé Noah, and we're all excited to celebrate.

However, there's one person who's not so excited – Noah's sister, Kayla. She's always had a grudge against Cecily and me, and I can't figure out why. Maybe she's just jealous or insecure, but either way, she's been nothing but rude to us.

As we all sit down for dinner, Kayla approaches us with drinks in hand. "Here you go, Harper and Cecily. I thought you might want something to drink."

I sniff the drink suspiciously. It smells like cinnamon, which is odd. I know Kayla isn't a fan of me, but I didn't think she would go this far. "Thanks, Kayla, but I think I'll pass. I'm pregnant, you know."

Kayla's face falls, but she quickly recovers. "Oh, right. I forgot. Well, Cecily, you can have mine."

Cecily hesitates but takes the drink anyway. I can tell she's uncomfortable, but she doesn't want to cause a scene.

As we start to eat, Kayla brings over a plate of food for me. "Here, Harper, I thought you might like some shrimp."

I stare at her in disbelief. Everyone knows I'm severely allergic to shellfish. "Kayla, I can't eat that. I'm allergic to shrimp."

Kayla looks at me innocently. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I must have gotten mixed up. I'll take it back."

I can feel the tension in the room growing. Charlie notices and comes over to us. "Kayla, is there something going on? You seem upset."

Kayla crosses her arms and glares at me. "I'm just trying to be nice, but Harper doesn't seem to appreciate it. She's so suspicious of me, it's like she thinks I'm trying to poison her or something."

I can feel my face getting hot. "Kayla, I'm sorry if I seem paranoid, but you have to understand, I'm pregnant with twins, and I have to be extra careful. And the fact that you brought me a drink with cinnamon and then offered me shrimp, knowing I'm allergic, just makes me wonder if you're trying to hurt me or my babies."

Kayla rolls her eyes. "I can't believe you're accusing me of trying to hurt you. I would never do something like that. I'm just trying to be friendly."

Charlie steps in. "Kayla, I think it's best if you just leave Harper alone for now. She's just being cautious, and I don't want anything to happen to her or the babies."

Kayla huffs and storms off. I let out a sigh of relief and lean into Charlie. "Thank you for sticking up for me."

Charlie smiles and kisses my forehead. "Always, Harper. I'll always have your back."

The rest of the dinner goes smoothly, and we all enjoy each other's company. Even though Kayla's behavior was concerning, I'm glad we were able to rise above it and have a nice family dinner. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, especially now that we're expanding our family with Taylor and Nicholas.
